Tonight we Recognize the Georgetown High School Swim Team
Georgetown High School’s boys swim team took home the gold February 18th,
becoming Conference 5A State Champions for the second time in school
history. The team was led by junior Jeremy Kelly, who earned two individual gold
medals at Saturday’s state swim meet.
The GHS boys had a total of five top three finishes at the UIL Championship event
in Austin. They had three other top-10 results, giving them 200 team points and
the top honor at the competition.
Members of the team are: Jeremy Kelly, Grant Browne, Kaden Alercon, Gabe
Charles, JT Baxley, Marcus Pineiro, Julian Pineiro, and Dylan Cooke. The coaches
are Jeremy Kline and Rehgan Hartsell.
The Georgetown High School Swim Team is committed to creating an environment
that helps an athlete grow mentally and physically, but also as a student-
athlete. They focus on creating opportunities for all swimmers to develop skills
through individual practices, peer interaction, and competitions.
Be sure to look for them in the Red Poppy Festival Parade on April 29th, showing
that team spirit and that Eagle Fight Never Dies!
(Bring them to come to the front for a picture.)
