HomeMy WebLinkAboutNational Small Business month_11.2023 PROCLAMATION WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown, Texas, celebrates our local small businesses and the contributions they make to our local economy and community; and WHEREAS, Small Business Saturday, observed on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, encourages individuals to support small businesses and shop local, fostering economic growth and vitality in our neighborhoods; and WHEREAS, 97% of consumers who shopped on Small Business Saturday® agree that small businesses are essential to their community; and 96% of consumers who shopped on Small Business Saturday® agree that shopping at small, independently-owned businesses supports their commitment to making purchases that have a positive social, economic, and environmental impact and reported the day makes them want to shop or eat at small, independently-owned businesses all year long, not just during the holiday season; and WHEREAS, supporting small businesses strengthens the social fabric of our communities and creates a ripple effect, bolstering employment opportunities, increasing tax revenue, and promoting a sense of pride and unity among the citizens of Georgetown, Texas. NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSH SCHROEDER, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TX, do hereby proclaim November 25, 2023, as SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY And let us join together to celebrate Small Business Saturday and continue to make our community vibrant, prosperous, and welcoming to all throughout the year.
