AS:
A resolution of the City Council of Georgetown, Texas, de-
termining the necf:ssity of levying an assessment against the property and
the oi,,ners thereof, abutting upon T..ain Strcet, v:,ithin the City of George-
town, Texas, fixing a time for the hearing of the ov:ners of said proper-
ty and declaring same to be an emergency measure, to-ivit: From N. prop.
line of 7th St. to S. prop. line of 5th St. and from S. prop. line of
8th St. to N. prop. line of 12th St. and from S. prop. line of 12th St.
to N. prop. line of 17th 1�t.
Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of George-
tovm, Texas: That Whereas, the City Council of the City of Georgetoi;rn,
have heretofore, by resolution, ordered the improvement of I:iain Street
with Uvalde Rock nsphalt, and the bui.l.ding of curb and gutters on either
side of said streets, when and where found necessary, in accordance with
the terms of said reso_Lution; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with law and the City Charter, of
said City of Geor6utovin, after advertising for bids, the uork of improv-
ing the above mentioned streets, between said points, to be improved with
Uvalde Rock Asphalt has been let to W. E. Dozier; and
HEIUS , a contract has been entered into betvreen the said
City of Georget-own and Y,. E. Dozier, on the 7th day of July, 1922; and
WEEAEkS, W. N. harris , the City Engineer of said City of
Georgetown, Texas, in accordance �-,lith a resolution of said City Council
heretofore passed, has filed his report with the City Council, as to the
cost of said improvements, and as to the matter recuired by law and said
resolution, which report or statement so filed by said City Engineer, has
been duly approved; and
VyMEREAS, the City Council of said City of Georgetown, has
finally determined to assess a pLrt of the cost of said improvement a-
gainst the said owners and their property.
lst. That it is finally determined hereby to assess such
part of the cost of said improvements against the or,ner of said property
and against their property, as hereinafter provided.
2nd. That a hearing shall be given to the owners of the
said property or their agents or attorneys, and all persons interested
in the said matter as to their assessments and as to the amount to be
assessed against each oener and his property, and as to the benefits to
said property from said im;'Irovements or any other thing in connection
therewith, which hearing shah be had in the City fall of said City of
Georgetov�n, Texas, on the 20 day of August, 1922, at 2 o'clock P. M. at
which time all said owners, their agents or attorneys, or persons inter-
ested in said proi)e rty are notified to appear and be heard; at r; hi ch
hearing said owners or other persons may appear by counsel or in person,
and may offer evidence, and said hearing shall be ad`1oiirned from dqy to
day until finally accomplished. And the City Clerk of the said City of
Georgetown, Texas, is hereby directed and ordered to give notice of said

hearing by having this resolution published three times in the 'illiamson
County Sun, the first publication to be :Made at least ten days before the
date of such hearing, and to mail each owner, their agents or attorneys, a
copy thereof, at least ten days before the date of such hearing.
3rd. That after said hearing said City 'Council krill, by
ordinance, assess against the owners of said property and against their pro-
perty, such sums up-, shall be determined to be just and equitable, and that
0aid assessment will be made in accordance ,:ith the "Front Foot Plan", as
the frontage of the owner it to the n,lJ.ole frontage to be improved, provided
that if the said plan shall be determined in any case to be unjust or inequit-
able, that the City Council will adopt such rule or apportionment as shall
be just and eq;itable, having in mind the benefits to c ch owner, and the
burdens imposed upon them, provided that no assessment shall be made against
any owner or his property in excess of the benefits to said pro-perty in en-
hanced value thereof, by means of such improvements.
4th: That the total cost of such improvements as s.o,1,,n by
the reports of the City Engineer, ,,rhich r--;:,port is made a part of this reso-
lution is the sum of $30560..09. That the proportion of the cost ;"Llich it is
proposed to assess against property owners and their property is '18333.92.
That the amount per front foot .hich it is proposed to €osess against each '
parcel of property and it's owner, not including the cost of curbs and gut-
ters all of ti,,hich cost of curbs and gutters is assessed against the respec-
tive property owners, is, according to the W idth of the streets, as follows,
to -wit: 30 foot streets 2.05; 60 foot streets ,a5.11; 57 foot streets '14.70;
-36 foot streets Q2.62; 40 foot streets '?"2.88.
5th: That the names of persons, firms, corporations and es-
tates owning property abutting the improvements, the descript1ons of their
property and the total amount including the cost of curbs and gutters, to be
assessed against each .,parcel of property and it's owners is as follot- s : to-

In accordance with your directions contained in resolu-
tion heretofore passed, I have made a preliminary estimate of the total cost
of the improvement of the streets covered by resolutions of your body to be
improved, the proportion to be paid by the City of Georgetown, and the pro-
perty owners, the cost per lineal foot to be assessed against the property
owners and their property, the names of the property owners and a description
of the -I-,ropert.v owned by them and the total cost to be assessed against each,
and beg to herewith, submit my said estimate and rcLLort thereon.

6th. That the fact that the streets named to be improv-
ed are in great need of improvement creates a public necessity that this
resolution be and the same i-q hereby declared to be an eriergency measure
and that it take effect from and after it's passage and approval by the
Mayor and City Council.
