A resolution of the City Council of Georgetown, Terxa.s, determin-
ing the necessity of levying an assess,,-._ent against the property and the
owners thereof, abutting uVon Brushy, College, Church, 7th, Sth and 12th
Streets, within the City of Georgeto-v,,n, Texas, fixing a time for the hear-
ing of the owners of said property, and declaring same to be an emergency
i_,easure, to-vit:-
Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Georgetown,
Texas:
That Whereas, The City k_%ounc it of the City of Georgetown, Tex-
as, has heretofore, by resolution, ordered the improvement of Brushy,
,College, Church, 7th, Sth and 12th Streets, v,ith Uvalde hock Asphalt,
and the building of curb and gutters on either side of said streets, when
and ti there found necessary, in accordance viith the terms of said resolu-
tion; and
Vjhereas, In accordance with law and the City Charter of said
City of Georgetown, after advertising for bids, the -v ork of improving
the above mentioned streets, bet�,,ecen said points, to be improved with
Uvalde Rock Asphalt has been let to W. E. Dozier; and
Yihereas, A contract has been entered into between the said
City of Georgetown, and -V. L'. Dozier, on the 7th day of July, 1922; and
V,,hereas, YFI. N. Harris, the City Engineer of said City of
Georgetov.fn, Texas, in accordance v ith a resolution of said City Coun-
cil heretofore passed, has filed his r,,port rith_ the City-ouncil as to
the cost of said improvements and as to the matter reouir�cl by lav, and
said resolution vhich report or statement so filed by said City Engineer
has been duly approved; and
Vhercas, The City Council of said Clity of Georgetoirtin, has fin-
ally deterrined to assess a rLLrt of the cost of said improvement against
the said of ners and their property:
lst. That it is finally determined hereby to assess such part
of the cost of 'said improvements against the owners of said property
and against their property, as hereinafter provided.
2nd. That a hearing shall be given to the ov.,ners of the said
prope'-ty or their agents or attorneys, and all persons interested in
the said matter as to their asse,:s:lc=nts and as to the amount to be as-
sessed against each owner and his property, and as to the benefits to
said property from said improve:r►ients or any other thing in connection
therewith, %hich hearing shall be had in the City Hall of said City of
Georgetown, Texas, on the 9th day of October, 1922, at 7,15 o'clock P.
A". , at which time all said owners, their agents or attorneys, or per-
sons interested in said property are notified to appear and be heard;
at 1which hearing said owners or other persons may appear by counsel or
in person, and may off.'er _evidence, and said hearing shall be adjourned

City of Georg etov.,Tn, Texas, is hereby directed and ordered to'give notice
of said hearing by having this resolution published three times in The
Williamson Co-Jnty Sun, the first publication to be made at least ten
days before the date of such hearing, and to mail each of ner, their a-
gents or attorneys, L. copy thci.eof, , at least ten days before the date
of such hearing.
3rd. That after said hearing said City Council will, by or-
dinance, assess against the okvners of said property and against their
property, such sums as shall be determined to be just and ecuitable,
and that said assessrn.ent irvill be r�RL_de in accordance i-:ith the "Front
Foot Plan", as the frontage of the o,,T:ner is to the whole frontage to
be improved, _provided that if the said plan srj,ll be determined in
any case to be unjust or inequitable, that the City (_:ouncil vri il.l adopt
such rule or appointment as shall be just Land co uitable , having in mind
the bent fits to each of°,ne.r, and the burdens irlposed upon them, provid-
ed that no asscss-�ment shall be -nade against any ov'iner or his prur)erty
in exce cs of the benefits to said property in enhanced value thereof,
by means of such improve. ents.
4th. That the total cost of' such im,)rover,tnts, as slio I'n by
the reports of the City .engineer, v,hich report is ;Made a part of this
resolution, is the sure of }0171,006.74. That the proport i.on of the co st
t°lrich it is proposed to assess against property ot-rners wnd their pro-
perty is 102,964.42. That the amount per front foot which it is pro-
posed to assess against each parcel of property and its ovaner, not in-
cluding the cost of curbs and gutters, iA.11 of vhich cost of curbs and
gutters is assessed against the r,.s,,;ective property ovan,_rs, is, accord-
ing to the width of the streets, as h,_rcinafter stated.
5th. That the names of persons, firms, cor•.ora.tions and es-
tates of ning z.rc :c rty abutting the improvements, the description of
their property, and the total Lufount, including the cost of curbs and
gutters, to be assessed aEuinst each ;parcel of prof-erty and its ovinL�r,
