GENCY:
Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas:
Section 1. That to meet the current expenses of the said City in
the carrying on the government of the said City, there shall be levied and
collected for the year 1924, a general ad-valorum tax of twenty-five cents
on each one hundred doAlars valuation of property in said City; except
such property as may be exerapt from taxation under the Constitution and
Laws of the State of Texas.
Section 2. That to meet the current expenses of the said City in
the v or;�-_ing, grading, improving, and extending the streets of the said
City, th('re skull be levied and collected for the Year 1924, a general
ad-valorum tax of tv;6nty cents on each one hundred dollars valuation of
all property in the said amity; save and except such property as may be
exempt from taxation under the Constitution and Laws of the State of
Texas.
�;ection 3. That to meet the currect expenses of the said City
in the equipping and maintaining the Fire Department of the said City,
there shall be levied and collected for the year of 1924, a general ad-
valorum tax of twenty cents on each one hundred dollars valuation of
property in the said City; save and except such property as may be ex-
empt from taxation under the Constitution and laws of the State of Texas.
Section 4. That to pay the interest and create a sinking i and to
meet and pay $6,000.00, in unpaid bonds of the said City, known as the
"City of Georgetown Refunding School House Bonds", as evidenced by six
bonds in the sum of "'1,000.00 each issued under and by virtue of an or-
dinance of the said City passed and approved Nov. 13th, 1905; there shall
be levied and collected for the ye�Lr 1924, a general ad-valorum tax of
three cents on each one hundred do:i_lars valuation of property in the
said city; save and except such property as may be exempt from taxation
under the Qonstitution and Lases of the :state of Texas.
Section 5. Thut to pu.y the interest ai:d create a sinking fund to
meet and pay:�2,000.00, in unpaid bonds of the said City and known as
the "City of Georgetoun �;aterworks Bonds" as evidenced ray thirty-two un-
paid bonds of said City issued by virtue of an ordinance passed and ap-
proved by the said City on the 19th day of October, 1910; there shall
be levied and collected for the year of 1924, a general ad-valorum tax
of tm(.lve cents on each one hundred dollars valuation of property in the
said City; save and except such pro-perty as may be exempt from taxation
under the Constitution and Laws of the State of Texas.
Section 6. That to pay the interest and create a sinking fund to
meet and pay $13,000.00 in unpaid bonds of the -aid City and 'icnotv.n as
the "City of Georgetown Electric Light Bonds", as evidenced by thirteen
bonds of' the said City in the sum of 9"1,000.00 each, issued by virtue of
an ordinance of the said City, passed and approved on the 18th dUy of
October, 1910, there shall bt, levied and collected for the year 1924, a

general ad-valorum tax in the sum of five cents on each one hundred dol-
lars valuation of all property in the ,aid City; save and except such pro-
perty as may be exempt from taxation under the constitution and laws of
the State of Texas.
"ection 7. That to pay the interest and create a sinking fund to
meet and pay i1",000.00 in unpaid bonds of the said City and known as
the "City of Georgetown Laterworks Bonds, Second Series," as evidenced
by twenty-six unpaid bonds of the said city, in the sum of Five Hundred
($bOO.00)Dollars each, issued by virtue of an ordinance of the said City
passed and approved on the 8th day of December, 1913; there shall be le-
vied and collected an advalorum tax for the year of 1924, on all property
in the said City, in the sum of five cents on each one hundred dollars
valuation of said property; save and except such property as may be ex-
empt from taxation under the (constitution and Laws of the State of Texas
Section 8. That to pay the into;rest and create a sinking fund to
meet and pay $85,000.00 in unpaid borids of the said City as evidenced
by eighty-five bonds in thc: sum of-$1,000.00 .each, known ws the "City of
Georgetown 'Street Bonds", issued by virtue of an ordinance: of the said
City passed and approved on the 10th day of April, 1922, there shall be
levied and collected a general ad-valorum tax for the year 1:-24, in the
sum of twenty-seven cents on each one hund:,.ed dollars valuation on all
property in the said City; save and except such property as may be ex-
er.•ipt from taxation under the constitution end Laces of the State of Texas.
Section 9. That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
Bection 10. That the Tact that it is necessary to provide for the
levy and collection of taxes for the said City for the year 1924, in the
manner herein set out, creates an iin�jurative public necessity that this
ordinance take effect from and after its passage and a;_I:roval.
