A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, AWARDING THE
CONTRACT FOR STOP LOSS INSURANCE COVERAGE
AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
INTO SUCH CONTRACT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY.
WHEREAS, the City requested proposals for medical stop loss reinsurance pursuant to
RFP #202360;
WHEREAS, the City received three proposals in response to its request for proposals;
WHEREAS, United Health Care has proposed providing medical stop loss reinsurance
to the City with a per employee per month most of $169.71; and

WHEREAS, City Staff recommends United Health Care as the vendor that will provide
the best value to the City;
WHEREAS, City staff therefore recommends awarding the contract to United Health
Care under the terms and conditions of RFP #202360; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it is appropriate to accept the
following benefit coverage proposal: Award a contract to United Healthcare with expenditures
not to exceed $1,713,600 for medical stop -loss insurance coverage for 1 year.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT:
Section 1. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are
hereby found and declared to be true and correct and are incorporated by reference herein and
expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim.
Section 2. The City Council hereby approves the award of the contract listed above.
Section 3. The City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to negotiate and sign the
final contract.
Section 5. The Mayor is authorized to sign the Resolution and the City Secretary to
attest.
Section 6. This Resolution shall become effective and be in full force and effect on the
9th day of January, 2024.
