The Georgetown City Council met on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Georgetown Public
Library, 402 West 8th Street, Georgetown, TX 78626 - Hewlett Room.

The following Members were in attendance: Josh Schroeder, Amanda Parr, Shawn Hood, Mike Triggs,
Kevin Pitts, Jake French, and Ron Garland.

1.a Downtown Georgetown Master Plan Update Work Session with Council
Discussion and feedback regarding the Downtown Georgetown Master Plan Updates -- Kim
Mcauliffe, Downtown & Tourism Director
Mayor Schroeder called the meeting to order at 1:02 p.m.
The following staff members were presented: David Morgan, City Manager; Nick Woolery,
Assistant City Manager; Laurie Brewer, Assistant City Manager; Sofia Nelson, Planning
Director; Amanda Still, Arts and Culture Coordinator; Nat Waggoner, Transportation Planning
Coordinator; Eric Nuner, Assistant Parks and Recreation Director; Jessica Clarke, Assistant to
the City Manager; Shelly Sommerfeld, Administrative Assistant; Allyson Turvey, Special
Events and Marketing Coordinator; and Wayne Nero, Assistant City Manager.
Nick Woolery, Assistant City Manger introduced the item. Chris Geddes with Design
Workshop reviewed recent feedback received from City council engagement; Historic Square
Enhancements; Rock Street Promenade - existing conditions overall , proposed
improvements, north of 7th Street, existing conditions between 7th and 8th Streets, options for
improvements on Rock Street between 7th and 8th Streets, and south of 8th Street;
Downtown gateways - existing conditions, southern gateway, southern gateway West side,
and northern gateway; needed feedback ; and next steps.
General discussion among Council, consultant, and staff regarding alternatives if downtown
County properties do not become available; likelihood of County moving the judicial center;
how the relocation would impact downtown if that were to happen; current makeup of types of
workers in the downtown area; consideration for future bike lanes; big topics to keep in mind.
Mayor Schroeder adjourned the meeting at 2:29 p.m.
