AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 2.08.010 OF THE CODE
OF ORDINANCES REGARDING ADMINISTRATIVE DEPARTMENTS;
REPEALING CONFLICTING ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS;
INCLUDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND SETTING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the proposed 2024 Annual Budget for the City
of Georgetown, and the Administrative Department revisions contained therein; and
WHEREAS, City Charter Section 5.04 "Directors of Departments" establishes the City's
organizational hierarchy; and
WHEREAS, the Administrative Departments are established and maintained for budgetary
purposes, and the City proposes certain changes to the organization of such Departments; and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it necessary to amend § 2.08.010 of the City of
Georgetown Code of Ordinances entitled "Administrative Departments."
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this ordinance are
hereby found and declared to be true and correct and are incorporated by reference herein and
expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim.
SECTION 2. The City of Georgetown Code of Ordinances, Chapter 2.08, Administration,
Section 10, Administrative Departments, is hereby amended to read as follows:
There are hereby established the following administrative departments of the City:
Building Inspections
City Attorney's Office and Real Estate Services
City Manager's Office
City Secretary's Office
Communications and Public Engagement
Customer Care and 311 Call Center
Economic Development, Tourism, Downtown, Arts & Events

SECTION 3. All ordinances and resolutions, or parts of ordinances and resolutions, in
conflict with this Ordinance are hereby repealed, and are no longer of any force and effect.
SECTION 4. If any provision of this Ordinance or application thereof to any person or
circumstance shall be held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the other provisions, or
application thereof, of this Ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provision or
application, and to this end the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby declared to be severable.
SECTION 5. The Mayor is hereby authorized to sign this Ordinance and the City Secretary
to attest. This ordinance shall become effective October 1, 2023 with adoption of the 2024 Annual
Budget by the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas.
