AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS AMENDING
SECTION 19-3 OF THE CITY CODE TO DECLARE THE THE
PLANNING COMMISSION AS THE CITY ZONING COMMISSION; TO
EXERCISE ALL POWERS AND DUTIES PERMITTED BY STATUTES
OF THE STATE OF TEXAS; PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE;
AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas,
desires to promote the public health, safety, morals, and welfare
of the community; and
WHEREAS, Section 1.09 of the Charter of the City of
Georgetown, Texas, expressly requires a Planning and Zoning
Commission to act as an advisory body to the City Council and to
perform such additional duties and exercise such additional
powers as may be prescribed by ordinance of the Council not
inconsistent with the said charter of the City; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS:
That Section 19-3 of the Code of the City of Georgetown,
Texas is amended to add the following passage,to read as follows:
9) To function as the City Zoning Commission and exercise
all of those powers and duties permitted by (Article
1011[f]), statutes of the State of Texas, the Cif
Charter and City ordinances as each may be amended
from time to time.
II.
This Ordinance shall be effective on the date in which it is
read, passed and approved on the second and final reading and
signed by the Mayor of the City of Georgetown, Texas.

All Ordinances, parts of Ordinances, or Resolutions in
conflict with this Ordinance are expressly repealed.
IV.
If any article, paragraph or part of a paragraph of this
ordinance is held to be invalid or unconstitutional by a court of
competent jurisdiction, the same shall not invalidate or impair
the vaidity or effect of any other article, paragraph or part of
a paragraph of this Ordinance.
