WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas ("City Council")
hereby finds a necessity exists for the revision of Section 19®1 of the Code of

the authority of the Mayor and City Council to appoint the members of the
Planning and Zoning Commission; and

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas ("City Council")
hereby finds a necessity exists for the revision of Section 19®1 of the Code of
Ordinances of the City of Georgetown, Texas Code") due to the uncertainty of
the authority of the Mayor and City Council to appoint the members of the
Planning and Zoning Commission; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF

SECTION 1®
Section 19-1 of the Code is hereby deleted, and the following Section 19®1
be, and hereby is, established in replacement thereof:
Section 191111111. City Planning Commission created and Y

There is hereby created and established for the City a planning
commission, which shall be composed of seven (7) members. The members
shall be resident citizens,, taxpayers and qualified voters of the
