An Ordinance Of The City Council Of The City Of Georgetown, Texas Amending Section 136.010(D) of the Code Of Ordinances Relating To Attendance Requirements for Board, Committee and Commission Members; ; Providing A Penalty Clause; Providing A Severability Clause; And Establishing An Effective Date. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Georgetown desires to appoint nonvoting Commissioners•inTraining to the Planning and Zoning Commission in order to ensure that a trained pool of applicants is available for appointment to the Planning and Zoning Commission; and WHEREAS, establishment of procedures will assist Is City and the public in having trained persons as Planning and Zoning Commissioners, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, that: SECTION 4 The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this Ordinance are hereby declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated be reference herein and made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim, The City Council hereby finds that this Ordinance implements the following Century Plan Policy Statements — Goals and Strategies: 1.4 Policy Statement "A high level tycooperation exists among Georgetown's citizens ancigovernmenlal organizations, Further, as required by Section 2.03 of the Administrative Chapter of the Policy Plan, the City Council hereby boa that the enactment of this Ordinance is not inconsistent with or immnflictwithany other Century Plan Policy Statements, SECTIONS New Section 2.36.010(0) of the City Code of Ordinances is hereby amended to provide as folows: Section 2.36.010 Duties of Commission, Committee, and Board Members, A) (no change) IBI Ino change) C) (no change) D) Attendance by board members is integral to the board's success It is Council policy to require a minimum of 73% attendance of each board member based --en Ordinance No • _ ATfENDANCE REQmEParMSFCRBD,AMS, CONMTTEES, AND C0Jth9SSK NS Page t of 2 wo; abspflePstn and Excessive absenteeism will result in the board member being replaced by the Council SECTION 6 The Mayor of Georgetown is hereby authorized to sign this Ordinance and the City Secretary to aftest.
