D Z? 0 -R A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS REPLACING MEMBERS OF THE GEORGETOWN VILLAGE PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 1 ADVISORY BOARD; AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, by letter dated July 9, 2003 from Mark Putska of the Georgetown Village Public Improvement District No. 1 Advisory Board (the "Board"), advised the City that the terms for two (2) Georgetown Village resident Board members have expired, and WHEREAS, the Board recommends that Pat Whiteaker and David Tristan be appointed to replace the outgoing Board members whose terms have expired; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds it to be in the public's best interest to make the appointments as recommended by the Board. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein and expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. The City Council hereby finds that this resolution implements the following Century Plan Element(s): X Governmental Affairs Policy End 15.00 — A high level of cooperation and involvement exists among Georgetown's citizens and governmental organizations. and further finds that the adoption of this resolution is not inconsistent or in conflict with any other Century Plan Policies, as required by Section 2.03 of the Administrative Chapter of the Policy Plan. SECTION 2. The City Council of the City of Georgetown hereby makes the following appointments to the Georgetown Village Public Improvement District No. 1 Advisory Board, and such appointments shall be effective in accordance with the Georgetown Village Public Improvement District No. 1 Advisory Board Governing Rules dated November 10, 2001: Member — Pat Whiteaker, 228 Village Commons Blvd. Member — David Tristan, 142 Village Commons Blvd. Resolution No. ZZQ Replacement of Georgetown Village Public Improvement District No. 1 Boardmembers Page 1 of 2 SECTION 3. Lee City Secretary sdl enclosure POST OFFICE box 409 ' GEORGETOWN, TEXAS 78627.0409 1 512/930-3652 ' FAX: 51 2/930-3659 R85-07 R85-07 RESOLUTION: TRAFFIC, SAFETY AND PARKING COMMITTEE RESLOVED: A Standing Committee on Traffic, Parking and Sa£tey_is hereby established to advise the City Council of Georgetown regarding changes in or additions to city policies and ordinances needed to provide for the efficient and safe use of City streets, alleys and thouroughfares by vehicular and pedestrian traffic. Areas of concern shall include traffic flow; traffic control; safety of drivers, riders and pedstrians; and parking. It shall be concerned with current conditions and both short and long range planning: and shall coordinate its study and delibrations with the city staff (especially in the police, fire, public works and planning departments) and with such other agencies and groups as the County Commissioners, the School District, State Highway Department, Chamber of Commerce, merchants associations and developers of commercial and residential property. This committee shall act as a board of approval for requests for changes in loading zones, handicapped parking spaces, special reserved parking spaces and shall work with city staff in amking recommendations for changes in ordiances invloving traffic, parking and safety. The Committee on Traffic, Parking and Safety shall have eleven (11) members, of who not more than two may be residents of the E.T.J. Membership on the committee should be broadly representative of persons living in different parts of town who make frequent but different uses (commuting, shopping, school attendance, deliveries, etc.) of the traffic arteries and feeders; as well as local merchants. The members shall serve three-year staggered terms and may serve no more than two consecutive terms. Committee members shall be recommended by the Mayor and approved by a majority vote of the Council. The Committee may report and make recommendations to the Council as needed. It shall report at least once a year in the month of May, so that any recommendations which might affect the annual budget may be considered.
