HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 74-08 - Ext Boundary Limits'� AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF CERTAIN BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN TEXAS, AND THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY CONSISTING OF 93.61 ACRES OF LAND, WHICH SAID TERRITORY LIES ADJACENT TO AND ADJOINS THE PRE- SENT BOUNDARY LIMIT OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, WHEREAS, a public hearing before the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, where all interested persons were provided with an opportunity to be heard on the proposed annexation of that certain tract of land located in Williamson County, Texas, consisting of 93,61 acres, was held at City Hall on the 28th day of March, 1974, which date is not more than twenty nor less than ten days prior to the institution of annexation proceedings; and WHEREAS, notice of such public hearing was published in a newspaper having general circulation in the City of Georgetow n, Texas, and in the above territory on the 14th day of March, 1974, which date is not more than twenty nor less than ten days prior to the date of such public hearing; and WHEREAS, the total corporate area of the City of Georgetown, Texas, on the first day of January, 1974, was 3119 acres; and ` WHEREAS, the population of the City of Georgetown, Texas, is 6395 inhabitants; and WHEREAS, the above described territory lies within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Georgetown, Texas; and WHEREAS, the above described territory lies adjacent to and adjoins the City of George- tOWn, Texas; and WHEREAS, the above described territory contains 93.61 acres; now therefore BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGE TEXAS: Section 1. The following described land and territory lying adjacent to and ad. the City of Georgetown, Texas, is hereby added and annexed to the City of Georgette my Texas, and said territory hereinafter described shall hereafter be included within the u� ary limits of the City of Georgetown, Texas, and the present boundary limits of such clt ,,_ at the various points contiguous to the area hereinafter described, are altered and amen' so as to include said area within the corporate limits of the City of Georgetown, Texas, to-wi t: Being that certain tract and parcel of land described on Exhibit A attached hereto and made a part hereof for all purposes. Section 2. The land hereby annexed is zoned as reflected on the attached and annexed plat of said area. Section 3. The above described territory and the area so annexed shall be a part of the City of Georgetown, Texas, and the property so added hereby shall bear its pro rotc part of the taxes levied by the City of Georgetown, Texas, and the inhabitants thereof shall be entitled to all of the rights and privileges of all the citizens and shall be bound by the acts, ordinances, resolutions and regulations of the City of Georgetown, TExas. Section 4. This ordinance shall be published and passed in the manner provided in the Charter of the City of Georgetown, Texas and the applicable laws of the State of Texas. BEGINNING at the most Westerly corner of the Williams Addition Unit 3, a corner the Georgetown City Limits. THENCE S 43008' E 305 feet. THENCE S 46052' W 280 feet to the most Westerly corner of Williams Addition Unit a corner of the Georgetown City Limits. THENCE S43008' E 573 feet. THENCE S 46052' W 330 feet. THENCE N 43008' W 725.0 feet.
