C- A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, DOCUMENTING THE CITY'S SUPPORT AND ACCEPTANCE OF A GRANT FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (TXDOT) TO FUND IMPROVEMENTS FOR PAVEMENT MAINTENANCE OF RUNWAY 11/29. WHEREAS, City of Georgetown intends to make certain improvements to Georgetown Executive Airport at Johnny Gantt Field; and WHEREAS, the general description of the project is described as: pavement maintenance on Runway 11/29; and WHEREAS, City of Georgetown intends to request financial assistance from the Texas Department of Transportation for these improvements; and WHEREAS, total project cost are estimated to be $1,694,000, and the City of Georgetown will be responsible for 10% of the total project costs currently estimated to be $169,400; and WHEREAS, City of Georgetown names the Texas Department of Transportation as its agent for the purposes of applying for, receiving and disbursing all funds for these improvements, selection of consultant, and for the administration of contracts necessary for the implementation of these improvements. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN TEXAS: SECTION ONE. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this Resolution are hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein and expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. The City Council hereby finds that this resolution implements specific sections of the Georgetown Executive Airport at Johnny Gant Field Functional Plan Element, and further finds that the adoption of this resolution is not inconsistent or in conflict with the City of Georgetown 2030 Comprehensive Plan. SECTION TWO. The City Council of the City of Georgetown finds it to be in the best interest of the citizens of Georgetown to approve the Project with TxDOT for pavement maintenance for runway 11/29. SECTION THREE. As shown in Exhibit A, the City hereby designates Eric Johnson, Director of Public Works, as the as the City of Georgetown authorized representative for the Project. Further, the City certifies that sufficient funds to meet the City's share of project costs as identified for the project will be available, as shown in Exhibit B. The Mayor is hereby directed to execute, and the City Secretary to attest thereto on behalf of the City, at the appropriate time, and with the appropriate authorizations of the City Council, all contracts and agreements with the State of Texas, represented by the Texas Department of Transportation, and such other parties as shall be necessary and appropriate for the implementation of the improvements to Georgetown Executive Airport at Johnny Gant Field.
