Tuesday, March 1, 2022
The Georgetown City Council met on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Council
Chambers at 510 West 91h St., Georgetown, Texas.

Mayor Schroeder called the meeting to order at 11:07 a.m. The following Council Members were
in attendance: Mayor Josh Schroeder; Shawn Hood, Amanda Parr, Council Member District 1;
Council Member District 2; Mike Triggs, Council Member District 3; Steve Fought, Council
Member District 4; Kevin Pitts, Council Member District 5; and Jake French, Council Member
District 6. Tommy Gonzalez, Council Member District 7 was absent. A quorum of Council
Members was present in Council Chambers and a roll call was performed.
The following staff member were also in attendance: David Morgan, City Manager; Mayra Cantu,
Assistant to the City Manager; Laurie Brewer, Assistant City Manager; Sabrina Poldrack, (title);
Robyn Densmore, City Secretary; Nathanial Waggoner, Assistant Planning Director; Sofia
Nelson, Planning Director; Michaela Dollar, Economic Development Director, and Conchita
Gusman, (title). Also in attendance were Todd LaRue with RCLCO Real Estate Consulting; Ron
Garland, candidate for District 4 for May 2022 election; and Ben Stewart, candidate for District 7
for May 2022 election.
Legislative Regular Session
(This Regular session may, at any time, be recessed to convene an Executive Session for any
purpose authorized by the Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code 551.)
A. The Georgetown City Council will be having a work session to review housing trends and
the vision for housing in Georgetown moving forward.
Nick Woolery, Assistant City Manager presented and reviewed the Council housing tour that
took place on February 25, 2022. There was then general discussion among Council and staff
regarding what they saw on the tour that they liked and disliked, if any code changes should
be considered, and the differences they saw in MUD and non -MUD projects. He then turned
the presentation over to Todd LaRue. LaRue presented and reviewed the following: the
Austin MSA market; regional employment growth; regional household distribution; regional
housing market; for -sale housing and the associated historical development patterns;
Williamson County housing market; median income; housing affordability; SH-130 housing
communities; regional master planned communities; employment concentrations;
commuting patterns; household growth; demographic shifts; evolving product types;
population trends; income and cost comparison; supply conditions; opportunity size; supply
growth; foreclosures; single-family rental supply growth; characteristics of single-family
rental housing stock; rental housing supply trends; construction pipeline; alternative models
for senior housing; development economics; residual land value (ideal versus reality); land
value comparisons; development concepts for walkable and mixed -use communities;
demographics driving moves to the suburbs; and top community amenity importance by age.
General discussion among Council and staff related to the future vision for housing in
Georgetown.
Adjournment
Mayor Schroeder adjourned the meeting at 1:34 p.m.
