A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, ADOPTING ORDERS DECLARING THE
DISTRICTS 3 AND 4 UNOPPOSED CITY COUNCIL CANDIDATES
ELECTED AND DISTRICTS 3 and 4 ELECTIONS CANCELLED
WHEREAS, The City Council ordered elections for City Council Districts 3 and 4 for
May 7, 2022 per Resolution No. 020822-13; and
WHEREAS, The City has received certification of unopposed candidates pursuant to
Section 2.052 of the Texas Election Code for the Districts 3 and 4 elections as denoted in Exhibit
A.
WHEREAS, The City is required pursuant to Section 2.053 of the Texas Election Code
by order or ordinance to declare each unopposed candidate elected to the office.
WHEREAS, The City is required pursuant to Section 2.053(e) of the Texas Election
Code to issue a certificate of election to each unopposed candidate in the same manner and at the
same time as provided for a candidate elected in the election.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ORDERED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS THAT:
SECTION 1: The facts and recitations in the preamble of this Resolution are true and
correct and are incorporated by reference herein and expressly made a part hereof, as if copied
verbatim.
SECTION 2: Mike Triggs, the unopposed candidate for District 3, is hereby declared
elected. A certificate of election shall be issued at the same time as provided for a candidate
elected at the election.
SECTION 3: Ron Garland, the unopposed candidate for District 4, is hereby declared
elected. A certificate of election shall be issued at the same time as provided for a candidate
elected at the election.
SECTION 4: The May 7, 2022 City Council elections for District 3 and 4 are hereby
cancelled. The Mayor is authorized to sign the Order of Cancellation in substantially the same

form as attached hereto as Exhibit B and the City Secretary to attest, and the Order of
Cancellation shall be posted as required by law.
SECTION 5: This Resolution shall be effective and be in full force upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED ON THE 8th DAY OF MARCH, 2022.

ORDER OF CANCELLATION (DISTRICTS 3 AND 4)
ORDEN DE CANCELACION
The City Council of City of Georgetown hereby cancels the District 3 and 4 elections scheduled
to be held on May 7, 2022 in accordance with Section 2.053(a) of the Texas Election Code. The
following candidates have been certified as unopposed and is hereby elected as follows:
El City Council de City de Georgetown por la presente cancela la eleccion que, de to contrario,
se hubiera celebrado el May 7, 2022 de conformidad, con la Secci6n 2.053(a) del Codigo de
