Z=—$-1 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 10.16.150 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN TO ADD PORTIONS OF ROCK STREET TO THE EXISTING DOWNTOWN PARKING ZONE; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 1.08 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES; REPEALING CONFLICTING ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION AND SETTING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Georgetown finds it necessary to review and update certain Chapters in the Code of Ordinances; WHEREAS, the Downtown Parking Zone provides for three-hour parking in and around downtown Georgetown; WHEREAS, the City finds it necessary to extend the downtown parking zone to include both sides of Rock street between 9th and 7th street. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT: Section 1. The meeting at which this ordinance was approved was in all things conducted in compliance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code, Chapter 551. Section 2. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this ordinance are hereby found and declared to be true and correct and are incorporated by reference herein and expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. Section 3. Section 10.16.150 (A) of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Georgetown, Texas is hereby amended and shall provide as shown below: A. 'Downtown parking zone" shall mean the area comprised of the following public streets: 1. Austin Avenue between 6th Street and 9th Street. 2. Main Street between 6th Street and 1 Oth Street. 3. 7th Street between Church Street and Rock Street. 4. 8th Street between Myrtle Street and Martin Luther King Street. 5. Church Street, west side between 7th Street and 9th Street. Rock Street, between 9th and 7t' Street. Section 4. If any provision of this ordinance or application thereof to any person or circumstance shall be held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the other provisions, or application thereof, of this ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provision or application, and to this end the provisions of this ordinance are hereby declared to be severable. Section 5. All ordinances that are in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance be, and the same are hereby, repealed and all other ordinances of the City not in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance shall remain in full force and effect. Section 6. The Mayor is hereby authorized to sign this ordinance and the City Secretary to attest. This Ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and effect ten (10) days on and after publication in accordance with the provisions of the Charter of the City of Georgetown.
