HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 05.14.1973 - Abandoning Alley315 ORDI NANCE AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND ABANDONING AN ALLEY IN WHAT WAS THE CARVER PARK ADDITION TO THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS PRIOR TO REPLATTING, SAID AREA NOW DESIGNATED AS BLOCKS F -LAND F-2, SOUTH SAN GABRIEL URBAN RENEWAL ADD- ITION TO THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, AS HEREIN SET FORTH. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS: Be E. Crawford, Ma o of Georgetown City Secretary City Attorney I, Claud Eads, City Secretary, City of Georgetown, Texas, do hereby certify that the above and foregoing is a true and correct copy of ORDINANCE passed by the City of Georgetown, Texas, on the 14th day of May, 1973. Icretary WHEREAS, a petition has been made to the City Council by the Urban Renewal Agency of the City of Georgetown, Texas, and Donald Goodnight, the owners of certain property in what was once known as the Carver Park Addition to the City of Georgetown, Texas, and WHEREAS, said petition states that the Urban Renewal Agency of the City of Georgetown, Texas, has acquired all of the lots in the Carver Park Addition save and except Lot 19, which is owned by Donald Goodnight, who joined the Agency in the replotting, and WHEREAS, by oversight or mistake, the replat of said Blocks F-1 and F-2 has been passed and approved by the Planning and Zoning Commission, the City Council, the City Manager and Mayor, and has been recorded in the plat records of Williamson County, Texas in Vol. 7, Page 60, without prior abandonment by the City of an alley 10 feet in width and L*j extending in length East and West between Railroad Street and Bridge Street, and O WHEREAS, it appears that the Urban Renewal Agency of the City of Georgetown, Texas CID and Mr, Donald Goodnight are owners of all of the property adjacent to the North and V South of said alley and that said parties are petitioners herein; that the Urban Renewal Plan V for this portion of the City of Georgetown, Texas does provide and call for the abandonment of said alley for said purpose. NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas that the alley 10 feet in width and extending East and West between Railroad Street and Bridge Street is hereby vacated, closed and abandoned. Read, passed and adopted by unanimous vote, this 14th day of May, 1973. Be E.
