5. Statement of goals as your committee understands them:
a. Long-range:
Providing quality library services to enhance the education
of the community.
b. For this year:
Begin the construction of new library facility and bring aboard
qualified staff. In addition, begin user fees and start automation
process.

6. Accomplishment/activities during current year:
In addition to the normal functions and activities of the library,
the Board selected an architect for the design of a new facility.
Based on his plans, the City of Georgetown held a bond election for
library construction funds, which passed by a 2-1 margin.
7. Plans for your committees work next year:
Continue with the oversight of the construction of the new
building and made a transition to this facility, along with
providing library services to the community.
8. Does your committee have recommendations for City Council
Action? If so, what?
The Board anticipates that we will recommend that the City take
over the operation of the library and incorporate it into the
Community Services Division of the City.
9. Will your committee be requesting any city expenditures for the
1987-88 budget year? If so, please be prepared to submit them to
the City Manager no later than May, 1987.

10. Does your committee want to make a regular report at a City
Council Meeting? If yes, would you like it scheduled annually,
semi -annually -or more often. -
We have tried to keep the Council fully informed as to all
activities of the library. We will be happy to make reports
to the Council if requested.

11. Does your committee have any questions ideas or
recommendations for the city staff and/or the City Council?
Any additional comments would be welcome.
