X* 5. Statement of goals as your committee understands them: a. Long-range: 1. Establish a Parks & Recreation Dept.(Has been started in late '86) 2. Assist city staff on all P & R policies and recommendations to the City Council 3. Assist the City staff with a citywide recreation survey 4. Set up a program for parkland acquisition b. For this year: 1. Develop citywide recreation programs for all age groups. 2. Assist city staff in establishing a P & R dept. 3. Develop guidelines for a citywide recreation program at all age levels. — 1 — 6. Accomplishment/activities during current year: Established a policy which was adopted by the City Council on a recreational fee structure and assisted the city staff in setting up parameters for a city P & R dept. 7. Plans for your committees work next year: 1. Develop recreation programs for the elderly and mid life adults. 2. Broaden the recreation programs for youth 3. Assist city staff in a recreation survey of the community 8. Does your committee have recommendations for City Council Action? If so, what? Reduce the committee to 9 members and change the subcommittees named in the resolution creating the P &R Committee to reflect a set of goals and objectives rather than subcommittees. 9. Will your committee be requesting any city expenditures for the 1987-88 budget year? If so, please be prepared to submit them to the City Manager no later than May, 1987. No 10. Does your committee want to make a regular report at a City Council Meeting? If yes, would you like it scheduled annually, semi-annually or more often. No- only as needed on issues of importance.
