Statement of goals as your committee understands them: a. Long-range: 1) Develop a long range strategic plan to develop the airport to meet the needs of the city and its users. 2) Design and update airport policies. 3) Advise Council on development opportunities 4) Improve community relation in regards to the airport. b. For this year: 1) Establish development guidelines and standards. 2) Pursue grants for airport improvements. 3) Study and recommend city investment at airport. - 1 - 4) Ensure a professional management system that meets the needs of city and public. 6. Accomplishment/activities during current year: 1)=Devel6ped policies to assure airport self-sufficiency. 2) Wrote airport manager job description. 3) Developed lease policies and guidelines. 4) Developed long-term grant requirements. 5) Supported public works and new airport manager during transition. 7. Plans for your committee's work next year: 1) Update long-term master plan. 2) Update ordinances for airport. 3) Plat airport property for lease. 4) Pursue grants for needed repairs. 5) Assure Council resolution is implemented by City staff. 8. Does your committee have recommendations for City Council Action? If so, what? Assure that resolutions that are approved by the council are understood and implemented by the City staff. 9. Will your committee be requesting any city expenditures for the 1986-87 budget year? If so, please be prepared to submit them to the City Manager no later than May, 1986. Yes - For Capital Improvements 10. Does your committee want to make a regular report at a City Council Meeting? If yes, would you like it scheduled annually, semi-annually or more often. Annually - During 1st quarter of the year. 11. Does your committee have any questions ideas or - 2 - recommendations for the city staff and/or the City Council? The City staff needs to be more responsive in handling lease agreements activity presented by the Airport Board and approved by the Council. The present time delays are totally unacceptable. Any additional corr:ments would be welcome. Thank you for this report. Please sent it to the City Secretary no later than December 1, 1985. - 3
