HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 06.09.1981 - AnnexationAN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF CERTAIN BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS AND THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY CONSISTING OF 6.57 ACRES OF LAND WHICH SAID TERRITORY LIES ADJACENT TO AND ADJOINS THE PRESENT BOUNDARY LIMIT OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS WHEREAS, a public hearing before the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, where all persons were provided with an opportunity to be heard on the proposed annexation of that certain tract of land located in Williamson County, Texas, consisting of 6.57 acres was held at City Hall on the 14th day of April, 1991; and WHEREAS, notice of such public hearing was published in a news- paper having general circulation in the City of Georgetown, Texas, and in the above territory; and WHEREAS, the hereinafter described territory lies within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Georgetown, Texas; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas: The following described land and territory lying adjacent to and adjoining the City of Georgetown, Texas, is hereby added and annexed to the City of Georgetown, Texas, and said territory hereinafter described shall hereafter be included within the boundary limits of the City of Georgetown, and the present boundary limits of such City at the various points contiguous to the area hereinafter described, are altered and amended so as to include said area within the corporate limits of the City of Georgetown, Texas, to wit: Being that certain tract and parcel of land described on Exhibit A attached hereto and made a part hereof for all purposes. Doerfler Mayor FIELD NOTES FOR THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN ANNEXATION PART IV BEING 6.568 ACRES OF LAND IN THE JOSEPH MOTT SURVEY, ABSTRACT NO. 427 IN WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TEXAS, 1.28 ACRES OF SAID 6.568 ACRE TRACT BEING OUT OF THE MISSOURI-KANSAS-TEXAS RAILROAD RIGHT-OF-WAY AND 5.288 ACRES BEING OUT OF THE MILTON L. COCKRUM TRACT OF RECORD IN VOLUME , PAGE OF THE DEED RECORDS OF SAID COUNTY AND STATE, BEING MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS: BEGINNING at a point on the centerline of said Missouri -Kansas - Texas Railroad Right -of -Way at Engineer's Station 1017 + 30, said point being on the present city limits of the City of Georgetown, Texas; THENCE, with said city limits, S 67° 43' 29" W, 50.00 feet to a point on the Westerly Right -Of -Way line of said Railroad for the Northwest corner hereof, said point intersecting a curve concave to the West having a radius of 11401.20 feet; THENCE, leaving said city limits, and continuing with the Westerly Right -of -Way line of said Railroad, 556.53 feet along the arc of said curve, through a central angle of 020 47' 48", said curve's long chord bears S 200 52' 37" E, 556.47 feet to a point on a common corner of the Georgetown Independent School District and the Round Rock Independent School District for the Southwest corner, hereof; THENCE, leaving said Right -of -Way line and continuing along the Southerly boundary line hereof and the common line of said School Districts, the following two (2) courses and distances: 1) N 700 29' 30" E, at 50.00 feet pass the centerline -station 1022 + 89.30, 100.00 feet to a point on the Easterly Right -of -Way of said Railroad; 2) N 710 55' 00" E, 400.11 feet to a point for the Southeast corner hereof, said point intersecting a curve concave to the West having a radius of 11901.20 feet; THENCE, leaving said Southerly line and said common boundary line and continuing along the Easterly boundary line hereof, 590.61 feet along the arc of 'said curve, through a central angle of 02° 50' 36", said curve's long chord bears N 200 51' 13" W, 590.55 feet, to a point on the present city limits of the City of Georgetown for the Northwest corner hereof, said point being at Offset Station 1017 + 30; THENCE, leaving said Easterly line and said curve and continuing along the Northerly boundary line hereof and said city limits S 670 43' 29" W, at 400.00 feet pass a point on the Easterly Right -of -Way line of said Railroad, 450.00 to the POINT OF BEGINNING, containing 6.568 acres of land.
