A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, SETTING A PUBLIC
HEARING TO DISCUSS AND REVIEW THE LAND USE
ASSUMPTIONS AND CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS PLAN
RELATED TO THE ROADWAY IMPACT FEE STUDY
WHEREAS, Chapter 395 of the Texas Local Government Code governs financing capital
improvements in municipalities; and,
WHEREAS, on January 22, 2019, City Council authorized the preparation of a Roadway Impact
Fee Study ("Study"); and,
WHEREAS, the Study is being developed with the intent to implement a roadway impact fee for
the City of Georgetown in accordance with Chapter 395 of the Texas Local Government Code;
and
WHEREAS, on November 26, 2019, the City Council established service areas to be considered
in the Study; and,
WHEREAS, the Land Use Assumptions ("LUAs") and Capital Improvements Plan ("CIP") to be
considered in the Study, were completed by the professional engineering firm of Kimley Horn and
Associates; and,
WHEREAS, on September 8, 2020, City Council received information of the LUAs and CIP
from Kimley-Horn and Associates; and,
WHEREAS, Section 395.042 of the Texas Local Government Code requires a municipality to
conduct a public hearing to consider LUAs and CIP for the designated service areas.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. The facts and matters set forth in the preamble of this Resolution are hereby found
to be true and correct.
SECTION 2. A public hearing shall be held on October 27, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. as part of the
regularly scheduled City Council Meeting to discuss and review the to the City's Transportation
Land Use Assumptions and Capital Improvement Plan.
SECTION 3. The City Manager is directed to comply with Section 395.044 of the Code; Notice
of Hearing on Amendments to Land Use Assumptions, Capital Improvements Plan and Impact
Fee Ordinance.
SECTION 4. The Mayor is authorized to sign this Resolution and the City Secretary to attest.
SECTION 5. This Resolution shall become effective and be in full force and effect upon
execution by the Mayor.
