A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, AWARDING CONTRACTS FOR SELF -
FUNDED DENTAL PROGRAM ADMINISTRATION SERVICES,
EMPLOYEE VOLUNTARY SHORT-TERM AND LONG-TERM
DISABILITY INSURANCE, EMPLOYEE SUPPLEMENTAL
INSURANCE, AND EMPLOYEE BENEFITS CONCIERGE SERVICES,
AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO SUCH
CONTRACTS ON BEHALF OF THE CITY.
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it is appropriate to accept the
following health benefit coverage proposals:
Item A: Award a contract to Guardian Life in the estimated amount of $27,317.00 to administer
the City's self -funded dental administration for one (1) year term with a three year rate guarantee
with the option to renew for four (4) additional one- (1-) year terms, and authorize the City
Manager to negotiate and sign renewals as long as such renewals do not deviate more than 7% of
the initial per employee per month contract price.
Item B: Award a contract to B1ueCross Blue Shield TX (Dearborn) in the estimated amount of
$104,615.00 per year for employee voluntary short-term & long-term disability coverage for one
(1) year term with a three year rate guarantee with the option to renew for four (4) additional
one- (1-) year terms, and authorize the City Manager to negotiate and sign renewals as long as
such renewals do not deviate more than 7% of the initial per employee per month contract price.
Item C: Award a contract to BlueCross Blue Shield TX for Employee Supplemental Insurance
benefits for one (1) year term with a three year rate guarantee with the option to renew for four
(4) additional one- (1-) year terms, and authorize the City Manager to negotiate and sign
renewals as long as such renewals do not deviate more than 7% of the initial per employee per
month contract price.
Item D: Award a contract to Alight (Compass) in the estimated amount of $37,740.00 for
Benefits Concierge Services coverage for one (1) year with the option to renew for two (2)
additional one (1) year term, and authorize the City Manager to negotiate and sign renewals as
long as such renewals do not deviate more than 7% of the initial per employee per month
contract price.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN TEXAS:

SECTION ONE. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this Resolution are
hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein and
expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim.
SECTION TWO. The City Council hereby approves the awards of the contracts listed above in
Item A with a three (3) year rate guarantee. The City Council hereby approves the awards of the
contracts listed above in Item B with a three (3) year rate guarantee. The City Council hereby
approves the award of the contract in Item C with a three (3) year rate guarantee. The City Council
hereby approves the award of the contract in Item D with a one (1) year rate guarantee.
SECTION THREE. The City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to negotiate and sign
renewals for Items listed in A, B, C, and D as long as such renewals do not deviate more than 7% of
the per employee per month contract price.
SECTION FOUR This Resolution shall become effective on the day of
2020.
