Minutes from the September meeting were read and approved. There were no citizens wishing to address the committee. The committee discussed approval of housing applicants. Charles Miller moved that Case Numbers 1,2,4, and 18 be approved for rehabilitation and be included in the first bid. It was seconded by Dionisio Rodriguez and approved 3-0. The order for approving future applicants was discussed. Charles Miller suggested picking applicants in equal numbers from each of the two City Council districts in the project area. Brad Stratton was opposed to such a system saying that it would be unethical to make decisions for rehabilitation based on Council districts. Charles suggested that Brad bring the remaining applicants files to the next meeting and the order for rehabilitation would be determined. Charles Miller moved that the next four houses to be rehabilitated should be Case Numbers 5, 9,12 and 15 because they had been previously approved based on individual qualification. It was seconded by Nat Lopez and approved 3-0. The committee discussed the project area boundary. The original application mistakenly contained two eastern boundaries, Timber St. and Forest St. Brad informed the committee that the Dept. of Housing and Community Affairs required us to consider Forest St. as the eastern boundary and that he had been working under this requirement. Charles suggested that the City Council should also make that recommendation in case there were ever a question raised about the City's intent. Brad said he would communicate with the Council through the City Manager. The meeting was adjourned at 8:50 pm. min1191 MINUTES City of Georgetown Housing Rehabilitation Committee September 23, 1992 Present: Diana Hill Dionisio Rodriguez Nat Lopez Absent: Jean Jackson Charles Miller The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. The minutes from the September 2, 1992 meeting were approved 3-0 as presented.
