Meeting Minutes
September 12, 2019
The Animal Shelter Advisory Board met Thursday, September 12, 2019 at 110 WL Walden Dr., Georgetown,
TX 78626.
Regular Session — To begin no earlier than 6:00pm.
(This Regular Session may, at any time, be recessed to convene at Executive Session for any purpose authorized
by the Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code 551).

Meeting called to order at 6:03 PM by Keith Fruge.
1. Introduction of new board member — April Haughey (Board Liaison)
a. City Council Member Steve Fought was introduced to the board. He is replacing Anna Eby.
2. Presentation of Animal Services and Animal Control Statistical and Analytical Report — April
Haughey (Board Liaison)
a. 3 adoption events held in August.
b. Capacity issues continue, with high surrender rates not offset by adoptions.
c. ACO calls were 586 in August, with 4756 YTD. Neighborhood and park patrol is a focus.
d. There were 14 dog bites in August compared to 8 in July.
e. The Canine Kerplunk was very successful this year.
3. Presentation of upcoming adoption and community events for September 2019 — April Haughey
(Board Liaison)
a. The shelter is participating in the PetSmart three-day national adoption event 9/13-9/15.
b. A vaccine clinic is scheduled for 9/21.
4. Consideration and possible action to approve minutes from June 2019 — Monica Gaskamp, Board
Chair
a. Minutes reviewed by all present; no corrections noted. Motion to accept minutes, Ned Atkins;
seconded, Laura Klein Plunkett. Approved unanimously.
5. Consideration and possible action to approve minutes from August 2019 — Monica Gaskamp, Board
Chair
a. Minutes reviewed by all present; no corrections noted. Motion to accept minutes, Ned Atkins;
seconded, Keith Fruge. Approved unanimously.
6. Public wishing to address the Board
a. As of the time of posting, no person had signed up to address the board.
With no further business or discussion, Laura Klein Plunkett made a motion to adjourn. Keith Fruge seconded.
