HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 79-26 - SubdivisionAN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 4.01 OF THE SUBDIVISION ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS. WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown, Texas adopted a subdivision ordinance on May 10th, 1977; and WHEREAS, said ordinance provides for submission of a preliminary plat to the Planning and Zoning Commission; and WHEREAS, it has become necessary for the City Staff of the City of Georgetown to review such preliminary plats prior to approval by the Planning and Zoning Commission; NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas: Section 4.01, subsection 7 of the Subdivision Ordinance of the City of Georgetown is hereby amended to read as follows: 7. Submission. The Community Development office shall. be furnished at least sixty (60) days or more prior to the regular meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission, two (2) legible prints of the preliminary plat and two (2) legible copies of a letter of transmittal, stating briefly the type of street surfacing, drainage, sanitary facilities, electric and water supply proposed, for the purpose of conducting City Staff review. The P Planning and Zoning Commission shall be furnished six (6) prints of the preliminary plat at least ten (10) days or more before the regular meet- ing of the Planning and Zoning Commission along with'the following information. a. Three (3) copies of a letter of transmittal stating briefly the type of street surfacing, drainage, sanitary facilities, electric and water supply proposed. b. Name and address of the owner or agent. c. Letter of Certification obtained from the Building Official as to whether or not the proposed development is in a flood -prone area. d. If determined subdivision falls in a flood -prone area, the developer will be required to comply with provisions of the City Flood Plain Management Ordinance prior to submission of final. plat. e. City Staff comments, signed by the City Manager and the Community Development Coordinator. Section 4. 01, subsection 8 of the Subdivision Ordinance of the City of George- town is hereby amended to read as follows: S. Approval. The Planning and Zoning Commission shall approve, condition allyapprove or disapprove within thirty (30) days, any preliminary plat submitted to it, except that no preliminary plat shall be approved until the Letter of Certification from the Building Official regarding development in a flood -prone area, and the City Staff comments are submitted to the Planning and Zoning Commission as set forth above. Approval of the preliminary plat shall not constitute final acceptance of the ,final plat. Preliminary approval will expire six (6) months after the approval by the Planning and Zoning Commission of the preliminary plat or of the final sections thereof, except that if the subdivider shall apply in 'writing prior to the end of such six (6) month period, stating reasons for needing the extension, this period may be extended for another six (6) months, but not beyond a total, of one (1) year. -_' •IQLS D AND APPROVED on first reading this 8th day of May, 1979,. a on 6e6ftd, and final reading this-, g?A&& day of t _ , 1979. n C.
