HomeMy WebLinkAboutAirport Advisory Board By-Laws 02.10.19813"I -LAWS FOR AIRPORT ADVISORY BOARD - GEORGETOWN MUNICIPAL AIRPORT Articles 1, 110 111 and Sections to these articles are defined in the City ordinance dated July 17, 1976 and amended April 10, 1.979 and February 10, 1331. Article I - Name and purpose Airport Advisory Board The Board shall make recommendations to the City Council on construction, expansion, improvements, maintenance and operation of the Airport. Article 11 - Membership Section 1 - Number of members - Board will be composed of five (5) members. Section 2 - Selection of Board - To be appointed by the Mayor, with the advice and consent of the City Council. Section 3. - Term of office - Two (2) years Section 4 - Tenure- Two (2) members of'the. first Advisory Board shall be appointed to serve until the first regular meeting after the annual municipal election in 1982, and three (3) members shall be appointed to serve until the first regular meeting after the annual municipal election in 1983, so that thereafter the terms of three (3) members shall expire in the odd numbered years,. Section 5 - Compensation - Members of the Board shall serve without compensation. Article III - Officers of the. Board Section 1 - Titles of Elective Officers - Shall be Chairman, Vici):-- Chairman and Secretary. Article IV - Filling of vacancies. Section 1 - If for any reason any member of the Board shall be dnabie to act, then the Mayor, with advice and consent of the City Council shall appoint a successor to fill they �jn- expired term. Article V - Duties of Officers Section 1 - The chairman presides at all meetings and performs all other duties pertaining to the office. The Vice -Chairman in the absence of the Chairman, performs all & t es of that office and shall succeed in office of Chairman In case of vacancy. The Secretary keeps records of prose d- Ings of all meetings and has custody of ail recores and papers of the Board. Article VI - Committees Section 1 - Special Committees for the study and investigation of special problems may be appointed by chairman; such committees to serve until completion of the work for which they are appointed. (:j�q o ± Article Vi) - Meetings Section I - Meeting time - The Regular monthly meeting shall be held on the first (lst) Monday of each month at 5:30 PM in the City Council room. If there is no business to be trans- actedo the President of the Board can cancel the meeting. Section JI Special meetings - Special meetings may be called by the Chairman whenever necessary for transaction of business stated in the call. Section Iii Quorum Three (3) appointed members constitute a quorum. Section IV - Copy of the Agenda and Minutes of previous meeting will be provided to the members one (1) week in advance of Board meeting. Article Vill - Amendments - These By -Laws may be amended at any regular monthly meeting of the Board, with a quorum present, provided the amend- ment was stated at the previous regular meeting. A unanimous vote of members present is required for amendment passage. Article IX -- Recommendation to Council will be submitted in writing by the Secretary to the Advisory Hoard prior to presenting to the City Council. I-
