AN ORDINANCE FIXING FIRE LIMITS i
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS At&1ENDING
SECTION 1919 CHAPTER XXVI, OF THE REV. CIV. AND CRIM.
ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS:
That Section 191, Chapter %XVI, of the Rev. Civ. and
Crim. Ordinances of this City shall hereafter read as follows:
TLat the fire limits of the City of Georgetown, Texas,
are hereby designated and fixed as follows: B*ginning at the
N. W. Cor. of Block No. 28; thence N. along 5th St. to N. E. Cor.
of Block No. 26; thence S. along Church St., to the N. E. Cor.
of Block No. 39; thence E. along 6th St. to the N. E. Cor. of
Block No. 11; thence S. along Myrtle St. to the S. E. Cor. of
Block No. 9; thence W. along 9th St. to the S. E. Cur. of Block
Ao. 52; thence S. along Church St. to the S. E. Cor. of Block
No. 1; thence W. along 10th St. to the S. W. Cor. of Block No.
3; thence N. along Rock St, to the S. W. Cor. of Block No. 50;
thence W. along 9th St. to the S. W. Cor. of block No. 49; thence
tv. along Yorest St. to v. W. Cor. of block No. 36; thence z. along

6th St. to N. W. Cor. of Block 37; thence N. to Rock St. to the
place of beginning. Same including the following blocks, to -wit:
Blocks 28, 27, 26, 36, 379 389 399 11, 42, 41, 40, 10, 49, 5U, 51,
529 99 39 29 1, together with all of the territory within the above
described limits; and all of the said territory is here designated
and shall hereafter be the fire limits of the said City, and shall
be known as such.
That the fact that it is necessary to increase the fire
limits of said City -creates an emergency, and that the rules re-
quiring ordinances to be read at three separate meetings before final
passage are hereby suspended, and this ordinance is at once passed,
and shall take effect from and after its passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED THIS THE TWENTY-EIGHTH DAY OF JUNE, A.D., 1949.

This area covers all property two blocks each way from
the Court House. The ordinance was passed to meet the State Fire
Insurance Commission regulations.
