HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 07.09.2019 CC-SNotice of a Special Meeting of the Governing Body of the City of Georgetown, Texas Tuesday, July 9, 2019 The Georgetown City Council will meet on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at 3:00 PM at the Council Chambers, 510 W 9' Street, Georgetown, Texas. The city of Georgetown is committed to compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Mayor Ross called the meeting to order at 3:00 PM. Council Members were in attendance. Mayor Dale Ross; Anna Eby, Council Member District 1; Valerie Nicholson, Council Member District 2; Mike Triggs, Council Member District 3; Steve Fought, Council Member District 4; Kevin Pitts, Council Member District 5; and Rachael Jonrowe, Council Member District 6. Tommy Gonzalez, Council Member District 7 was absent. Call to Order — A Special Meeting of the City Council Legislative Regular Session A. First Public Hearing for the voluntary annexation of an approximate 112.85 -acre tract in the Williams Addition Survey, Abstract No. 21, and 1.7 acres consisting of a portion of Rockride Ln/Southwestern Ave, a right-of-way of varying width of record described to Williamson County, Texas, and 5.1 acres consisting of a portion of County Road 110, a right-of-way of varying width of record described to Williamson County, Texas, designation of initial zoning of Residential Single -Family (RS) district (106.092 acres) and Agriculture (AG) district (6.755 acres), for the property generally located at the northeast corner of Southwestern Blvd and CR 110, to be known as Patterson Ranch -- Sofia Nelson, CNU-A, Planning Director Nelson presented the item and reviewed past actions taken by Council on this development. She then Nelson stated that the Planning and Zoning Commission (P&Z) made a recommendation at their June 4, 2019 meeting to approve the Residential Single -Family (RS) zoning but deny the use of General Commercial (C-3) zoning. Public hearing opened at 3:03 p.m. Larry Brundige addressed the Council and stated that he will speak against at 6 p.m. meeting. He had procedural questions on why there two public hearings in one day. Brundige noted that the project will utilize Jonah water, but the contract looked like it will then use Georgetown water after two years. He had the following concerns of the number of units, traffic, and the number of cars. Brundige stated that he feels a Traffic Impact Analysis (TIA) is needed. Mayor Ross asked if the development would utilize Jonah water. Nelson responded that yes, it would be Johnah water. The Public Hearing was closed at 3:06 p.m. Adjournment Motion by Pitts, second by Fought to adjourn the Special Meeting. Approved 6-0.
