Mayor Ross called the meeting to order at 6:03 PM. Mayor Dale Ross, Anna Eby, Councilmember District 1, Valerie Nicholson, Councilmember District 2, Steve Fought, Councilmember District 4, Kevin Pitts, Councilmember District 5, and Tommy Gonzalez, District 7 were in attendance. John Hesser, Councilmember District 3 and Rachael Jonrowe, Councilmember District 6 were absent, Regular Session Call to Order — A Special Meeting of the City Council CANVASS of May 4, 2019 GENERAL ELECTION AND SWEARING IN CEREMONY A. Consideration and possible action to approve a Resolution canvassing the votes of the May 4, 2019 General Election, declaring the results to be official -- Robyn Densmore, City Secretary Densmore presented the item including the final tabulation of results and read the caption. She stated that the results for the position of Councilmember District 3 were that Michael Triggs received 785 votes and John Hesser received 714 votes; for the position of Councilmember District 4, Steve Fought received 1,010 votes and Joe Reedholm received 509 votes; for the position of Councilmember District 7, Tommy Gonzalez received 220 votes and Jaquita Wilson received 205 votes. Motion by Pitts to approve the results as presented, second by Fought. Approved 5-0 (Hesser and Jonrowe absent). B. Swearing in of reelected Council Member District 4, Steve Fought -- Robyn Densmore, City Secretary Densmore administered the oath of Mr. Fought. C. Comments from reelected District 4, Council Member, Steve Fought -- Mayor Dale Ross Fought stated that he was honored to continue his work on the Council and appreciative of the work of staff and his fellow councilmembers. D. Swearing in of reelected Council Member District 7, Tommy Gonzalez --Robyn Densmore, City Secretary Judge Stacy Matthews administered the oath for Mr. Gonzalez. E. Comments from reelected District 7, Council Member, Tommy Gonzalez -- Mayor Dale Ross Gonzalez stated that he was honored to continue his work on the Council and thanked everyone who came out to vote in the election. Before moving to Item F Mayor Ross spoke on Councilmember Hessers' time in office F. Consideration of election from the dais of a Mayor Pro Tem -- Mayor Dale Ross Motion by Fought to nominate Valerie Nicholson, Councilmember District 2 to serve as Mayor Pro Tem, second by Gonzalez. Approved 5-0 (Hesser and Jonrowe absent). G. Swearing in of Mayor Pro Tem -- Robyn Densmore, City Secretary Densmore administered the oath of Ms. Nicholson. H. Comments from incoming Mayor Pro Tem -- Mayor Dale Ross Nicholson thanked her councilmembers for the opportunity and said that she is looking forward to filling in the role Adjournment Motion by Pitts, second by Fought to adjourn the meeting.
