ORDINANCE FIXING THE SALARIES OF THE OFFICERS TO BE
ELECTED AT THE NEXT GENERAL CITY ELECTION AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS:
That, the salaries of the officers of the said City,
elected at the next general election of the said City, are hereby
nixed as follows:
To the City Marshal, there shall be paid a monthly salary
of the sum of one hundred and seventy-five ($175.00) Dollars,
divided into bi-monthly payments, due and payable on the 1st, and
15th, of each month; and in addition to the said payments, he shall
receive, when collected and deposited in the treasury, the fees now
fixed, or that may hereafter be fixed, as corporation court fees, for
the office of marshal.
That the City Clerk shall receive a monthly salary in the
sum of twelve and 50/100 ($12.50) Dollars per month, payable monthly;
and in additi&n thereto he shall receive the fees, when collected and..
paid into the treasury, that is now fixed or that may hereafter be fixed
as Clerk's fees, in the corporation court.
That there shall be paid to the City Recorder (judge of the
corporation court) a monthly salary of ten ($10.00) Dollars per month
payable monthly, and in addition thereto, he shall receive the fees
that are now fixed or that may hereafter be fixed, when same are coli
lected and paid into the treasury, as corporation court fees for the
office of City Recorder.
That the City Assessor and collector of the said City shall
receive for his.services four percent (4$) for assessing and four
percent (4%) for collecting, all moneys assessed, for the account of
the general funds; and he shall receive one percent (1%) for assess-
ing and one percent (1%) for collecting, all moneys assessed for the
bond funds. That payments for assessing shall be based on his tax
rolls, when same are approved, and that payments for collecting shall
be based on money actually collected and paid into the treasury.

That the City Treasurer shall receive a monthly salary of
twelve and 50/100 ($12.5c3) Dollars payable monthly.
That each City Alderman shall receive a monthly salary of
ten ($10.00) Dollars per month, payable monthly.
That the fact that it is necessary to fix the,salaries
of the above mentioned officers prior to their election, creates
an emergency making it necessary that the rules requiring that an
ordinance be read at three separ to meetings before final passage,
be suspended, and that this ordinance pass at once, and that it
take effect from and after its passage.
