AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOI�M. TEXAS, MAKING IT UlT-
LL FUL TO BEEP AI'IY HOG OR HOGS WITSI1T THE CITY LIMIT OF SAID
CITY, EXCEPT AS HEREIN PROVIDED, AND FIXING A PENALTY, AND
DECLARING All EMERGMI CY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGE-
TO:dN, TEXAS:
That from and after the date that this ordinance takes effect,
it shall be unlawful for any person for himself, or as agent for
another, to keep any hog or hogs, in any house, shed, pen, lot
or pasture, within the corporate limits of this city.
That any person violating the provisions of this ordinance
shall upon conviction, therefore be fined in any sun not less than
one and not more than one hundred dollars.. That each day that
this ordinance is violated shall constitute a separate offense.
That this ordinance shall not apply to hogs kept temporarily
(not to exceed 2 days) in shipping pens, for purpose of ship -
went; or to hogs kept temporarily (not to exceed 2 days) at
auction or sales pens, or barns, for the purpose of sale.
The fact that there are places within the City where hogs
are now being kept, and that such keeping of said hogs, constitutes
a menace to the public health, creates an emergency making it nec-
essary that the rules requiring the reading of ordinances at three
separate meetings before passage, be suspended, and that said rules
are here suspended, and this ordinance is here and now passed.
That this ordinance shall take effect on and after 30
days from the date of the passage hereof.
