HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 84-56 - Boundary Sierra Vista Sec 2ORDINANCE 84--56 qti4 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF CERTAIN BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, AND THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY CONSISTING OF SIERRA VISTA SECTION TWO AND SIERRA VISTA SECTION WHICH SAID TERRITORY LIES ADJACENT TO AND ADJOINS THE PRESENT BOUNDARY LIMIT OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS. WHEREAS, two public hearings by the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, where all interested persons were provided with an opportunity to be heard on the proposed annexation of that certain tract of land located in Williamson County, Texas, known as SIERRA. VISTA SECTION TWO AND SIERRA VISTA SECTION ONE SUBDIVISIONS were held, the first being at CltTy tial l on the 1 3th Day of November, 1984 , and the second hearing being at City y Ha11 on the METi-al5-y oi'�fil'oovvember, 1984 WHEREAS, notices of such public hearings were published according to law in a newspaper having general circulation in the City of Georgetown, Texas, and in the herein described territory to be annexed on the 28th Day of October, 1984 for the first such hearing, which date is not more than 24 days nor less than 10 days prior to that hearing, and on the 4th Day of November, 1984, for the second hearing, which date is not more than 20 days nor less than 10 days prior to said hearing: and WHEREAS, the total corporate area of the City of Georgetown, Texas, on the 1st day of January, 1984 was 4141.64 acres; and WHEREAS, the population of the City of Georgetown, Texas is 9,468 inhabitants; and WHEREAS, all the herein described territory lies within the extra- territorial jurisdiction of the City of Georgetown, Texas; and WHEREAS, the herein described territory lies adjacent and contiguous to the City of Georgetown, Texas; and WHEREAS, the herein described territory contains 88.61 acres; and WHEREAS, the owner of such property has requester: annexation by the City of Georgetown; now therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS; Section I. The following described land and territory lying adjacent and contiguous to the City of Georgetown, Texas is hereby added and annexed to the City of Georgetown, Texas and said territory hereinafter described shall hereafter be included in the boundary limits of the City of Georgetown, Texas and the present boundary limits of said City at the various points contiguous to the area hereinafter described are altered and amended so as to include said area within the corporate limits of the City of Georgetown, Texas, to -wits BEING that certain tract and parcel of land described in Exhibit A attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference for all purposes. Section 2. The above described territory and the area so annexed shall be a part of the City of Georgetown, Texas and the property so added hereby shall bear its pro -rata share of the taxes levied by the City of Georgetown, Texas and inhabitants thereof shall be entitled to all the rights and privileges of all the citizens and shall be bound by the acts, ordinances, resolutions and regulations of the City of Georgetown, Texas. B. FIRE SERVICIC Fire service is now being provided to the area and will continue to be provided by the present personnel and equipment of the fire fighting force. C. FATr—t SERVICE Water service will be provided upon installation and approval by the City of appropriate sized distribution lines in accordance with the City of Georgetown Subdivision regulations and will continue to be provided in accordance with rates, terms and conditions contained in the Georgetown City Code.
