GEORGETOWN ON THE 12th DAY OF FEBRUARY, 1968, AND A CERTAIN AMENDMENT THERETO.BY AMENDING AND RESCINDING PORTIONS OF SECTION 14.2 AS AMENDED; PROVIDING FOR PROCEDURE AND PUBLIC HEARINGS AND SUCH NOTICE OF SUCH MEETINGS THROUGH NEWSPAPER PUBLICATION AND THROUGH DELIVERY OF CERTIFIED MAIL NOTICE AND PROVIDING FOR A MAJORITY VOTE OF THE CITY COUnCIL FOR PASSAGE OF ANY SUCH AMENDMENT EXCEPT THAT A THREE-FOURTHS (3/4) VOTE SHALL BE.REQUIRED UNDER CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES AS SET FORTH. IN SECTION 14.265 AS HEREBY AMENDED AND DESIGNATING AN OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF GEORGETOWN AND CONTAINING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL` -OF -THE CITY OF: GEORGETOWN, TEXASs "PART FOURTEEN s AMENDMENTS" Set tion 14.2 of the Zoning Ordinance of the City ofGeorgetown is hereby amended as hereinafter appears and is rescinded as hereinafter appears.'. Such amendments and reeissions are as'follows: "PART FOURTEEN: AMENDMENTS" Section 14.2 Application and ,petition, for amendments or .changes to the Regulations and/or District 14.201 Any person, firm or corporation petitioning the City Council for a change in the Regulationsor. the District Map shall" do so upon forms ,provided for Poch purposes by the office of the Director of Planning or other CLty office as directed by the City Council. All petitions or applications for, changes in the Regulations or District Map shall be filed with the office of the Director of Planning or other City,office as directed by the City Council, 14.202 No action to amend, supplement, change, modify or repeal the Zoning Ordinance or the District Map relative to uses and special permits shall be final until there shall have, been a public zoning hearing thereon with public notico,of such hearing' as herein required and as required by law. ; 14,203 .r t�oCicm of such public _zoning hearing on uses and special permits involving any such change ,in zoning shall be given by publication once,in a newspaper of general circulation In the, City of Georgetown, stating btiefly:;_the change or amendment -to be considered at the hearing, and the time and place AS of the City Planning and Zoning Conmission hearing, which time shall not be earlier than fifteen (15) days from the date of such publication. In addition to the said newspaper notice, written notice shall be given of the time and place of the hearing of said Planning and Zoning Commission# stating the address of the property proposed for change or special permit and briefly the change or special permit that is to be considered. Such notice shall be sent to each of the owners of such land, As determined from the most recently approved City tax roll of all real property lying within 200 feet of the property on which the change in classification or a special permit is proposed. Such notice shall be given not less than fifteen (1�) days before the date set for hearing before the City Planning and Zoning Commission and shall be deemed to have been given when deposited in a United States Mail receptacle with postage prepaid and sent Certified Mail Return Receipt Requested. 14.204 The Public Meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission shall be conducted pursuant to the rules of Order commensurate with proper conduct. No official action shall be taken at such meeting except that the Planning and Zoning Commission at such meeting shall prepare its written report to the City Council which shall contain its recommendations as to the action to be taken. Section 14.205 is hereby amended to read as follows: After receipt by the City Council of the recommendations of the City Planning and Zoning Commission, the City Council shall at either a regular or special meeting, act upon the proposed changes, amendments or Special Permits. Except as hereinafter provided, a MaOority vote of the City Council shall be required for passage of a proposed change, amendment or Special Permit.
