HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 09.25.2018 CC-SMinutes of a Special Meeting of the Governing Body of the City of Georgetown, Texas Wednesday, September 25, 2018 The Georgetown City Council will meet on Wednesday, September 25, 2018 at 4:00 PM at the Council Chambers, 101 E. 7" Street, Georgetown, Texas. The city of Georgetown is committed to compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Mayor Pro Tem, John Hesser, called the meeting to order at 4:00 PM. All Councilmembers were in attendance, with the exception of Mayor Dale Ross. Anna Eby, Councilmember District 1, Valerie Nicholson, Councilmember District 2, John Hesser, Councilmember District 3, Steve Fought, Councilmember District 4, Kevin Pitts, Councilmember District 5, Rachael Jonrowe, Councilmember District 6, and Tommy Gonzalez, Councilmember District 7 were in attendance. Regular Session (This Regular session may, at any time, be recessed to convene an Executive Session for any purpose authorized by the Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code 551.) A. Call to Order— A Special Meeting of the City Council B. First Public Hearing for the Voluntary Annexation and designation of Public Facilities (PF) zoning district for an approximate 1.42 -acre tract of land out of the William Addison Survey, Abstract No. 21, generally located north of E University Ave and west of Inner Loop, to be known as Fire Station No. 7 -- Sofia Nelson, CNU-A, Planning Director Planning Director, Sofia Nelson, spoke on a voluntary annexation request for property to be known as Fire Station No. 7. She provided a location map and future land use map. Location description and map. Some properties is requesting public facilities designation. Future land use Nelson provided the Annexation Process for the property and the Proposed Schedule. She explained that this Public Hearing is one of two public hearing for the annexation today and the second public hearing would be heard at the evening's City Council meeting. Nelson noted that there would also be a first and second reading of an annexation ordinance to follow. Nelson read the caption. Mayor Pro Tem, John Hesser, opened the Public Hearing at 4:02 PM. No persons were present to speak on the annexation request. Hesser closed the Public Hearing at 4:02 PM. Hesser noted that this was a Public Hearing item only and no action was required of Council Adjournment Mayor Pro Tem, John Hesser, adjourned the meeting to begin the City Council Workshop Meeting at 4:03 PM.
