HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 12.09.1974 CC-R264 4 December 9, 1974 The City Council met on the above date with Mayor Joe E. Crawford pre- siding. The following councilmen and officials were present: Harry Gold, Hubert Brock, William Eanes,.. Dee Scott, City Manager Leo Wood, City Secretary W. L. Walden, and City Attorney Joe McMaster. Others present were: Jeff South, Jeff Benkoe, Rodney Montgomery, Carl Kinslow, Bob Simmons, Charles Forbes, and other interested persons. Monthly Minutes Motion by Brock and seconded by Gold that the minutes of the City Council and Reports Meetings held on November 11, 1974 and November 21, 1974 be approved as pre- sented. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Motion by Gold and seconded by Eanes that General Fund bills in the amount of $4,043.61 and Utility Fund bills in the amount of $69,385.53 be approved and paid. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Urban Renewal- Motion by Eanes and seconded by Scott to approve a Resolution for the sale Sale of Lots of parcels C-2, C-6, R-5, M-15, M-16 and M-17 in the South San Gabriel Urban Renewal Addition. Motion carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book 02 - Page* 430-431) Motion by Eanes and seconded by Scott to approve a Resolution for the sale of parcel M-9 in the South San Gabriel Urban Renewal Addition. Motion carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book #2 - Page +430) Motion by Eanes and seconded by Scott to approve a Resolution for the sale of parcels M-14 and R-6 in the South San Gabriel Urban Renewal Addition. Motion carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book 02 - Page # 429) 265 Agreement with A Resolution in accordance with the Cooperation Agreement with the Urban Renewal- Urban Renewal Agency for the City to pay its share of the cost of streets and Phase V drainage on Phase V, Job 068-218-U, was presented to the council. Motion by Brock and seconded by Gold to approve the resolution. Motion carried by unani- mous (See Ordinance Book #2 - Page 0431) vote. Housing Authority Mr. Ernest Lincoln presented a check in the amount of $1,079.65 from the Housing Authority for payment in lieu of taxes. General An Ordinance regulating and prescribing the rates of the General Telephone Telephone Company of the Southwest was presented to the council. The Counci I asked Rate Increase General Telephone to provide them with additional information as to depreciation on equipment before next regular council meeting. Letter -Citizens Mr. Charles Forbes, Chairman of the Citizens Advisory Committee, Advisory presented a letter from the Committee recommending that the first years funding Commission allocated the city of Georgetown as a result of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, be used to plan and construct the raw water intake structure on the North Fork Lake. C:7 d� Disaster Relief Motion by Scott and seconded by Eanes to approve a Resolution authorizing Resolution - Thomas G. Sams, Building Official, to execute in behalf of the City of Georgetown V Airport an application to obtain certain Federal financial assistance under the Disaster V Relief Act. Motion carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book #2 - Page#432) LCRA Resolution Motion by Brock and seconded by Gold to approve a Resolution urging the General Manager of the Lower Colorado River Authority to pursue the necessary amendments to the LCRA Act. Motion carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book #2 - Page x"432-433) 50% Electrical Motion by Gold and seconded by Scott to continue the fuel adjustment Fuel Adjustment charge of 50% which is to be added to the 26.5% base rate increase giving a Charge total of 76.5% increase on the December billing. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Traffic Study A report from the Texas Highway Department stating that the study of traffic at the intersection of Highway #81 and RM 2338 revealed that the traffic volume at that intersection did not meet the minimum volume for the installation of a traffic signal. Subdivision A letter from Sam Wyse suggesting the possible wording of Section 5.08, Ordinance Parks and Playgrounds, in the proposed new subdivision ordinance was presented to the council. The council agreed on the proposed wording, but asked that developers in the area be sent a copy of the section before any final descision is made. Ambulance Mayor Crawford reported that Williamson County was to provide 100% Service financing on the ambulance service in Georgetown and the surrounding area. The County will buy the ambulances but the City of Georgetown will provide operational money for the first year and then will be reimbursed by the County at the end of the fisical year.
