The following councilmen and officials were present, William Eanes, Harry Gold, Joe Crawford, J. D. Wininger, Hubert Brock, City Manager Leo Wood, Asst. City Manager Claud Eads, Architect Roger Erickson, Norma Harris, City Attorney Joe McMaster, Bodie McCormick, Carl Kinslow and Timmy,,3ames with General Telephone Company, Lee Evans, Jesse Lozano, Fire Chief Curtis Anderson and Tom Curtis who was representing Westinghouse. Monthly Reports Minutes of the council meeting held February 14, 1972, were and Bills approved as presented. Motion by Gold and seconded by Wininger that General fund bills in the amount of $2,246.56 and Utility bills in the amount of. $26,676.35 be approved and paid. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Fire Station The following bids were opened on the Fire Station: Bids Donald Goodnight, Georgetown, Texas - Base Bid - $34,800.00 - 150 calendar days to finish. Pokorny Construction Company, Taylor, Texas - Base Bid - $43,246.00 - 167 calendar days to finish. Motion by Eanes and seconded by Gold that the bid by Donald Goodnight be accepted. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Brush Chipper The following bids were opened on a Brush Chipper: Bids Michan Motor Company, Walburg, Texas - $4,450.00 River City Machinery Company, Austin - 4,891.50 Browning-Ferris Machinery, Houston - 4,700.00 11iWay Machinery - Waco - 5,544.00 Utility Equipment, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma - 4,136.08 Asplundh Equipment Sales, Waco - 4,452.00 Mayor Sloan appointed Brock, Wininger, and Manager Wood to study bids and purchase whichever is the better bid. Electrical The following bids were opened on electrical supplies: Supply Bids Temple, Inc. $12,160.00 Watson Electrical Supply 12,114.139 Perry Shankle Company 12,187.00 Priester Supply 13,400.00 Techline Inc. 13,430.00 Graybar Electric 12,529.00 Mayor Sloan appointed Brock, Wininger and Manager Wood to check the bids and purchase the lowest bid if it is satisfactory. Motion by Crawford and seconded by Gold that the above committee be approved. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Round hock The hound hock Agreement pertaining to the city limit lines and Agreement extra territorial jurisdiction was discussed at length. Mayor Sloan asked for a vote on the proposed agreement. Motion by lanes and seconded by Wininger that the agreement be approved. Votes as follows: AYES: Lanes and Aininger NOES: Gold, Brock, and Crawford. San Gabriel The San Gabriel Annexation Ordinance was presented for its second Heights Annexat- reading. Motion by Brock and seconded by Gold that the annexation ion Ordinance ordinance be passed to its second and final reading. Motion carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book No. 2 - Page 267) Country Club The Country Club Acres Unit No. 5 Annexation Ordinance wag pre - Acres Unit 5 - sented for its second reading. Motion by Brock and seconded by Wininger Annexation that Lountry Club Acres Unit No. 5 be passed to its second and final Ordinance reading. Motion carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book No. 2 - Page 269) Urban Renewal The Urban Renewal Project Estimate #1 was presented but not Project Estimate approved. Further information was needed from the engineer. No. 1 Advertise for Motion by Wininger and seconded by Gold that City Manager Wood be Transformer authorized to advertise for bids on 70 transformers to be opened April 10, Bids 1972. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Advertise for Motion by Brock and seconded by Wininger that City Manager Wood Truck be authorized to advertise for bids on a truck for the Street Depart- ment. These bids to be opened April.10, 1972. Motion carried by unan- imous vote. Advertise for Motion by Wininger and seconded by Crawford that City Manager Police Car Wood be authorized to advertise for bids on a Police car with air- conditioning. These bids to be opened April 10, 1972. Motion carried by unanimous vote. American Legion Motion by Eanes and seconded by Brock that the American Legion Resolution Resolution be accepted and that Mayor Sloan be authorized to sign it. Motion carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book No. 2 - Page .272-273) Zoning Ordinance A Zoning Ordinance from R -S to ilM-1 was presented. Motion by Brock and seconded by Gold that the Zoning Ordinance be passed and approved. Motion carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book #2 - Page 271) Called Meeting Upon request of the Mayor, the City Secretary Claud Lads, called a special meeting of the council for Tuesday evening March 14, 1972, at 7:30 p.m.., for the purpose of continuing the meeting and considering unfinished business.
