HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 11.08.1971 CC-R1.7 8 November 8, 1971 The City Council met in regular session on the above date with Mayor Jay C. Sloan presiding. The following Councilmen and officials were present, William Eanes, Barry Gold, Joe Crawford, J. D. Wininger, Hubert Brock, City Manager Leo Wood, Asst. City Manager Claud Luds) and City Attorney Joe McMaster. Others present were Norma Barris, Tommy Leggett, Dr. and lira. John Webb, Robert Morse, Richard Mittanck, and Engineer Roger Erickson. Monthly Motion by Brock and seconded by told that minutes of the City Council Minutes and meeting held October 11, 1971, be approved as presented. Motion carried Report by unanimous vote. Monthly Bills Notion by Brock and seconded by Gold that General fund bills in the amount of $5,045.79 and Utility bills in the amount of $31,787.94 be approved and paid. Motion carried by unanimous vote. lira. John Webb lira. John Webb presented as petition with 1,103 signatures to Dog control dogs and other pets running at large in the City. Ordinance Mrs. Webb presented the council with suggestions from Texas Municipal League and other pamphlets relating to handling of dogs and other pets. Mayor Sloan suggested that our existing ordinance be enforced and that a study be made on a new ordinance. Royal Oaks An ordinance for changing certain zoning in the Royal Oaks Estates Estates was presented by Robert Morse'. 'Zoning Motion by Lanes and seconded by Wininger that above resolution be Change passed. Motion carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book No. 2 - Page 260-261) Urban Renewal Mayor Sloan stated that there would be a joint meeting of the pity Meeting Council and Urban Renewal Commission on November 15, 19I1. Ifighway #29 On a motion by Crawford and seconded by Wininger the highway #29 Ordinance Parking Ordinance pass to its second and final reading. Motion carried by unanimous vote. 179 ATTEST: Jay C. Sloan, Mayor, City of Georgetown City Secretary Davis Funeral A letter from Police Chief John Shearin was presented recommending Home Parking certain parking zones for Davis Funeral Home. Motion by Wininger and seconded by Lanes that above recommendation be granted. Motion carried by unanimous vote. San Gabriel A resolution to vacate San Gabriel Hill subdivision plat was pre - Hills sented by City Attorney Joe McMaster. Resolution Motion by Brock and seconded by Eanes that above resolution be passed. Page 261-262) Motion carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book #2 - Amendment to An ordinance was presented to amend the It -M Section of the zoning Zoning Ordiance ordinance for the City of Georgetown by Attorney Joe McMaster. R -M Section Motion by Brock and seconded by Eanes that above ordinance be passed to its first reading...Motion carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book #2 - Page 262-263) Vacate Oak An ordinance to vacate 60 feet of Oak Lane Street was presented Lane Street by Robert Morse. Motion by Eanes and seconded by Wininger that the above ordinance be passed on its first reading. Motion passed by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book#2 - Page 264) Techline Inc. Motion by Gold and seconded by Eanes that Techline Bill in the amount of Bill $878.50 be paid from Electrical Construction Fund. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Police Station Motion by Brock and seconded by Gold that bill in the amount of Final Ajill $468.60 to Roger Erickson for final payment of architectural fees on 0 Police building be paid. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Donald Good- Motion by Gold and seconded by Wininl;er that bill in the amount, of night Bill $567.75 to Donald Goodnight be paid for extra work in Police Station. Motion carried by unanimous vote. W. H. Mullins Motion by Brock and seconded by Wininger that bill presented by Inc. Bill W. H. Mullins Inc. in the amount of $6,796.40 be paid when contract is signed by contractor Holloman and work order given: Motion carried by unanimous vote. Fire Station Motion by Gold and seconded by Eanes that Roger Erickson proceed Plans with plans on Fire Station as soon as possible. Signed letter by Manager Wood will serve as contract with Mr. Erickson. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
