HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 07.08.1971 CC-R1 G 9 July 8, 1971 ATTEST: Jay C. Sloan, Mayor, City of Georgetown City Secretary The City Council met in regular session on the above date with CO Mayor Jay C. Sloan presiding. The following councilmen and officals were present, William R. Eanes, Harry Gold, Joe Crawford, J. D. Wininger, Hubert Brockf City Manager Leo Wood, and Asst. City Manager Claud Eads. Others present were Bill Buchanan, Jim Ribble, Ronald U Welch, Rodney Montgomery, Norma Harris and Roger Erickson. Minutes of Council meetings held on June 7 and June 14, 1971, were approved as presented. Monthly Motion by Gold and seconded by Eanes that General fund bills in Bills the amount of $4,255.88 and Utility bills in the amount of $32,764.58 be approved and paid. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Conroe Motion by Gold and seconded by Eanes that the bill from Conroe Cresote Co. Cresote Company in the amount of $1,144.00 be approved and paid out Bill of the Electrical Bond Account. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Gas and Oil. Motion by Brock and seconded by Wininger that Manager Wood be Bids authorized to advertise for bids on gas and oil for a period of one year. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Urban Mr. Rodney Montgomery of. Urban Renewal presented two resolutions Renewal for the councils consideration. Motion by Gold and seconded by Eanes that Resolution the City vacate five feet from the West side of Timber Street,lying between 7th Street and 8th Street, to allow the Urban Renewal Agency to place said property on the market because it will now conform with the overall plan of the City. Motion carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book No. 2 - Page 250 Taxi Motion by Eanes and seconded by Gold that the City Secretary be Permit authorized to issue a taxi permit to Parkway Cab when all requirements are met. Also it is part of the minutes that there will be no other permits issued to any other cab companies for a three year period. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Zoning Motion by Eanes and seconded by Brock that the Council support the Commission Zoning Commissions decision not to change the zoning of property in Report part of Block 11, in the Snyder Addition, woned by Jess Todd, from R -S to R -H. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Williamson Motion by Gold and seconded by Crawford that budget contributions County Health to Williamson County Health Unit be increased from $3,900.00 to $4,500.00 Unit Budget for the coming year. Votes as follows: AYES- Gold, Crawford, Wininger, Brock. NOES- Eanes. Motion carried. Mayor Sloan stated that there would be a council meeting on July 26, 1971.
