May 31, 1971
The City Council met in called session on the above date with
Mayor Jay C. Sloan presiding. The following Councilmen and officials
were present, William Lanes, Harry Gold, Joe Crawford, J. D. Wininger,
Hubert Brock, City Manager Leo Wood, Asst. City Manager Claud Eads,
and City Attorney Joe McMaster. Others present were Mrs. Norma Harris
and Mrs Elanor Cook.
Brazos River
The Brazos River Authority offered to make a loan to the City
Authority
equal to 25% of the E.P.A. Grant for sewer construction.
Motion by Gold and seconded by Wininger that the City persue the
above proposition offered by Brazos River Authority and report at
the next meeting. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Oak Crest
Motion by Brock and seconded by Gold that the City proceed with
Estates
extension and construction of electrical services to Oak Crest Estates
Electrical
and that bids be opened on June 7, 1971. Motion carried by unanimous

vote.
Rebate Study
Mayor Sloan read a letter from the committee that was previously

appointed to make a study of the rebate program to subdividers.
Motion by E:anes and seconded by Wininger that subdividers be paid
$75.00 when each home is connected to City water, sewer and electricity.
With an all electric home a bonus will be paid of $75.00, making it
possible to recover $150.00 on each house. This is to be paid to devel-
oper after written notice and first monthly bill has been sent to
customer. Motion carried by unaimous vote.
Joint Tax
Superintendent Jack Frost had asked City Manager Wood for the
Collecting
Council to consider the possibility of the City and Georgetown Independent
Agency
School District to jointly form a tax collecting agency for the City and
school.
The Council instructed Mayor Sloan or City Manager Wood to inform
Mr. Frost that the City of Georgetown would not be in favor of joint
tax collecting.
There being no further business on a motion by Wininger and seconded
by Gold the meeting adjourned.
