HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 04.12.1971 CC-R162 APRIL 12, 1971 The City Council met on the above date with Mayor Jay C. Sloan presiding. The following Councilmen and officials were present, William Eanes, Harry Gold, Joe Crawford, J. D. Wininger, Hubert Brock, City Manager Leo Wood, Asst. City Manager Claud Eads. Others present were Bill Buchanan, Norma Harris, City Attorney Joe McMaster and Don Scar- brough. Minutes of Council meetings held March 8, March 15 and March 22, 1971, were approved as presented. Monthly Bills Motion by Gold and seconded by Eanes that General Fund bills in the amount of $5,379.58 and Utility Fund bills in the amount of 9618,613.28 be paid and approved. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Electrical Motion by Gold and seconded by Wininger that the bill from Conroe Bond Acct. Creosoting Company in the amount of $1,314.12 be paid out of the Electrical Bond Account. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Water Construction Motion by Eanes and seconded by Gold that the bill from Bradshaw & Account Associates,for Park well pump, in the amount of 9613,965.65 be paid out of the Water Construction Account. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Canvass Mayor Sloan appointed J. D. Wininger, Joe Crawford and Claud Eads of Election to canvass votes from the election held April 3, 1971. Returns CANVASS RETURNS: TO THE HONORABLE MAYOR OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS: We your committee appointed to canvass the returns of the regular City Election held on April 3, 1971 to elect: Three Councilmen for two year terms each re port as follows: That William Eanes received 359 votes for councilman. That Hubert Brock received 352 votes for Councilman. That Harry Gold received 363 votes for Councilman. Total votes cast 372. Signed: J. D. Bid Motion carried by unanimous vote. Texas Nater A letter was read by Mayor Sloan from the Texas Water Quality Quality Board Board with reference to a 660 grant for sewer construction for the Letter City.
