HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 03.15.1971 CC-S159 March 15, 1971 The City Council met in called session on the above date with Mayor Jay C. Sloan presiding. The following councilmen and officials were present William Lanes, Harry Gold, Joe Crawford, J. D. Wininger, Hubert Brock, City Manager Leo Wood, Asst. laity Manager Claud Eads, and Tax Collector Robert Caluette. Others present were Mrs. Elnor Cook, Bill Buchanan, and Mrs. Harris. Bond Bids Bids were opened considering the sale of $275,000.00 Revenue bonds and $185,000.00 General Obligation bonds, which was the balance of $880,000. voted on in 1969. Mayor Sloan appointed the following to check tabulation of bids on above mentioned bonds, Curtis Adrian, William Eanes, Harry Gold and Claud Eads. Bond Councilman Gold introduced a proposed ordinance, for the sale of Ordinance Revenue Bonds, which was read in full. Coundlman Wininger moved that the rule requiring ordinances to be read at more than one meeting be sus- pended. The motion was seconded by Councilman Eanes. The motion carried unanimously. Councilman Brock moved that the ordinance be passed finally. The motion was seconded by Councilman Crawford. The motion passed unanimously. (See Ordinance Book No. 2 - Page 229 - 230) Councilman Gold introduced a proposed ordinance, for the sale of General Obligation Bonds, which was read in full. Councilman Eanes moved that the rule requiring ordinances to be read at more than one meeting be suspended. The motion was seconded by Councilman Crawford. The motion carried unanimously. 160 Councilman Brock moved that the ordinance be passed finally. The Motion was seconded by Councilman Wininger. The motion carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book No. 2 - Page 230-231) Bond Bid The low bidder was Underwood-Newhaus Company. of Houston. Tabulation General Obligation Bonds of $185,000.00 Interest hate - 4.392445 Revenue Bonds of $275,000.00 Interest hate - 4.757929 Bids were as followl: (General Obligation) First Southwest Corp., Austin - 4.59079 Rowles,Winston & Company - Houston— 4.651786 First of Texas, Inc., Houston - 4.62225 Russ & Company, San Antonio - 4.63665 Domonick & Domonick, San Antonio - 4.5648 Citizens State Bank, Georgetown - 4.55357 Columbian Security of Texas, San Antonio - 4.67402 Bids were as follows: (Revenue Bonds) Rowles,Winston & Company, Houston - 5.01229 First Southwest Company, Austin - 4.97128 Russ & Company, San Antonio - 5.007298 Domonick & Dononick, San Antonio - 4.93257 First of Texas, Houston - 4.78755 Columbian Security Corp. of Texas, San Antonio - 4.90452 There being no further business on a motion by Wininger and seconded by 4old the meeting adjourned.
