March 15, 1971
The City Council met in called session on the above date with
Mayor Jay C. Sloan presiding. The following councilmen and officials
were present William Lanes, Harry Gold, Joe Crawford, J. D. Wininger,
Hubert Brock, City Manager Leo Wood, Asst. laity Manager Claud Eads,
and Tax Collector Robert Caluette. Others present were Mrs. Elnor Cook,
Bill Buchanan, and Mrs. Harris.
Bond Bids Bids were opened considering the sale of $275,000.00 Revenue bonds
and $185,000.00 General Obligation bonds, which was the balance of $880,000.
voted on in 1969.
Mayor Sloan appointed the following to check tabulation of bids on
above mentioned bonds, Curtis Adrian, William Eanes, Harry Gold and
Claud Eads.
Bond Councilman Gold introduced a proposed ordinance, for the sale of
Ordinance Revenue Bonds, which was read in full. Coundlman Wininger moved that the
rule requiring ordinances to be read at more than one meeting be sus-
pended. The motion was seconded by Councilman Eanes. The motion carried
unanimously.
Councilman Brock moved that the ordinance be passed finally.
The motion was seconded by Councilman Crawford. The motion passed
unanimously. (See Ordinance Book No. 2 - Page 229 - 230)
Councilman Gold introduced a proposed ordinance, for the sale of
General Obligation Bonds, which was read in full. Councilman Eanes
moved that the rule requiring ordinances to be read at more than one
meeting be suspended. The motion was seconded by Councilman Crawford.
The motion carried unanimously.

Councilman Brock moved that the ordinance be passed finally. The
Motion was seconded by Councilman Wininger. The motion carried by
unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book No. 2 - Page 230-231)
Bond Bid The low bidder was Underwood-Newhaus Company. of Houston.

There being no further business on a motion by Wininger and seconded
by 4old the meeting adjourned.
