The Loading zones were recommended by Manager Wood and Chief of Police Shearin. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Georgetown Mr. Ernest Lincoln with Georgetown dousing Authority presented an Housing ordinance requesting the City of Georgetownto accept that portion of Authority West 19th Street as dedicated by Rameriz to the City. Then another ordinance The City Council met in called session on the above date with Mayor Jay E. Sloan presiding. The following councilmen and officials were present, Hubert Brock, William Eanes, Joe Crawford, J. D. Wininger, Harry Gold, City Manager Leo Wood, Asst. City Manager Claud Eads, and City Tax Collector Robert Caluette. Others present were, Virgil Carlson, Roger Erickson, Bill Buchanan, Jarvis Philpot, Grady Watkins, Henry Meyer, Richard Mittanck, J. L. Akridge, W. L. Osborne, Harold Parker, Mr. and Mrs. E. It. Steelman, Mrs. W. L. Osborne, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Jones, Mr. and Mrs. H. F. Loyd, Mr. and Mrs. Suh Suk-Soon, Earl Hodges, David Mayer,and John Smith. Public Mayor Sloan explained to the group the purpose for the public hearing Hearing on concerning the proposed annexation of the East Lynn Addition. Mayor Sloan Annexation answered the many questions presented by the concerned residents. of East Lynn Addition Urban Renewal Virgil Carlson with the Urban Renewal Agency presented to the Council an ordinance abandoning a fifteen foot portion of West 8th Street. Motion by Gold and seconded by Wininger that the above ordinance be passed. Motion carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book No. 2 - Page No. 222) Crestview Motion by Eanes and seconded by Wininger that the plat for dedication Unit #IV of Crestview Unit No. IV as presented by Harold Parker be approved. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Aotion by Eanes and seconded by Wininger that above ordinances be passed and approved. Motion carried by unanimous vote.(See Ordinance Book No. 2 - Page 227) Audit Report Motion by Brock and seconded by Gold that the audit report from Sept. 1, 1969 to August 31, 1970 be accepted. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Roger Motion by cold and seconded by Crawford that contract submitted Erickson by Roger Erickson to remodel police station on 7th Street be accepted Contract with minor changes and to pay Mr. Erickson in the amount of $655.36 which is the balance due on engineering fees on the original contract for the Police Station plans. There being no further business on a motion by Brock and seconded by Gold the council adjourned and went into executive session: CZ Mayor Sloan called the executive meeting to order. Police Chief Motion by Crawford and seconded by Eanes that on March 1, 1971, � Salary the Police Chief salary to to 8625.00 per month and that Chief Shearin V get City Managers car for police purposes only and also authorize U the manager to get a radio for that car. All were in favor. New York Motion by Eanes and seconded by Crawford that the Manager and Trip Mayor be authorized to travel to New York for interviews with the City financial counselors and consultants and meet with ratingservices, on bond indebtedness of the City. All were in favor. Managers Motion by Crawford and seconded by Hold that on March 1, 1971, Managers Salary salary be increased to $12,000.00 per yearbasis, and that an expense provision of $50.00 per month be effective on the same date.
