JANUARY 11, 1971
The City Council met in rel,rular session on the above date with Mayor
Jay C. Sloan presiding. The folling; councilmen and officala were present
William 1.. Lanes, Harry Gold, Joe Crawford, J. 1). Wininger, Hubert Brock,
City Manager Leo Wood, Asst. City Manager Claud lads, and City attorney,
Joe McMaster. Others present were Don Scarbrough, Mr. ltouct, IienrN, Bell,
Richard Mittarick, 1;. L. Zucknick, Mrs. Jack Harris, L. W. `.IcDaniel,
Bill Buchanan and J. ll. Bradshaw.
Well Pump The following bids were opened on a well pump:
Bids Southwest Pump and Supply 613,965.65
Layne -Texas 11,687.00
The Mayor appointed \tarnager Leo Wood, J. D. lVinring;er and Joe Crawford
to check the specifications on the pw!ips and report back to the council at
a later date.
Water Tower A bill was presented to the Council from Pittsburgh Des -Moines
Estimate #4 Steel Company on estimate #4 and final payment on the water tower, in the
and Final amount of 520,340.10.
On a notion by Brock and seconded by Wining;er that •32,400.00 be de-
ducted for liquidation penalty,for 24 days at 6100.00 per day, leaving a
final payment of $17,940.10. Notion carried by unanimous vote.
Minutes of council meetings held December 14, 1970 and December
28,
1970 were approved as presented.
Monthly
Motion by Brock and seconded by Gold that General fund bills in
the
Bills
amount of 62,123.36 and Utility bills in the anount of 524,5.1.1.08 be
approved
.and paid. kiotion carried by unanimous vote.
Lone Star
Mr. Bell with Lone Star Gas 0ompany stated tliat the gas company
would
Gas Co.
not pay more than $150.00 per month rental on the building presently
occup-
ied by his company. Mr. Bell also stated his company would share building;
with.the city and pay SlOO.00 per month for a portion used by his com-
pany.
The Council did not accept above offer and extended the time for
occupancy of the building by the gas company until March 15, 1971.

Pole Lease
pole lease agreement be extended to January 17, 1973. Motion carried
by
unanimous vote.

W. If. Mullins Motion by Brock and seconded by Crawford that the bill from IG. ti.
Bill Mullins hngtineering.Finu in the amount of 6981.43,for engineering; fees
on the water tower, be returned unpaid. Motion carried by unanimous
vote.
There being; no further business on a motion by Wining;er and seconded
by Gold the meeting; adjourned.
