AUGUST .�'t; 1970
The City Council met in regular session on the above date with Mayor
Jay C. Sloan presiding. The following Councilmen and officials were pre-
sent William Banes, harry Gold, sloe Crawford, J. D. Winineer, City Mana-
ger Leo Wood, Asst. City Manager Claud Eads, and City Attorney Joe Alc\las-
ter. Others present were Skip Mills, Richard hlittanck, Fred :Muhl, Bill
Buchanan, Mrs. Elnor Cook, Angus Wyatt, James Browder, William Stump,
Mr. and Lira. James Rehler, and Virgil Carlson.
Minutes of Council meetings held July 6, 14, and 27 were approved as
presented.
Monthly Bills Motion by Gold and seconded by Eanes that General Fund bills in the
amount of $4,162.83 and Utility Fund bills in the amount of $29,076.51
be approved and paid. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Plastic Pipe City Manager Wood recommended to the Council that plastic pipe be app-
roved for use in DWY sewer projects and certain gas installations. Motion
by Eanes and seconded by Gold that the Plumbing Code Ordinance be amended
to the above specifications. (See Ordinance Book No. 2 - Page 211).
James Browder James Browder requested that the City give financial assistance to
Stonehaven the Stonehaven project for.the elderly citizens. Much discussion was given
to the matter and no action was taken at this time. This will be reviewed
at a latera date.
Zoning - The Zoning Commission recommended to the City Council a zoning change
Trailer Park in part of Block 44 from NS to C -2A for an Urban Renewal Trailer Park.
On a motion by Crawford and seconded by Gold that the above recommendation
be approved. Motion carried by unanimous vote. ( See Ordinance Book No. 2 -

Resolution Motion by Gold and seconded by Eanes that the resolution authorizing at
Trailer Park Trailer Park be adopted. Motion carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance
Book No. 2 - Page 209)
Urban Renewal Virgil Carlson with Urban Renewal presented a resolution and plat
designated as Block "F" of Urban Renewal for Council action. Motion by
Wininger and seconded by Crawford that above resolution be passed. Motion
carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance !look No. 2 - Page 211
Utilities Motion by Gold and seconded by Eanes that City pay $4,714.00 which
Carver Park represents City's portion for installing utilities for the Urban Renewal
Addition project in the Carver Park Addition. !lotion carried by unanimous vote.
Alvin Braun Mayor Sloan -appointed City Manager Wood, Barry Gold and Joe Craw -
Land Lease ford to contact Alvin Braun about land lease near Auction barn and report
back to the council at a later date.
Mayor Sloan stated tiat there would be a called council meeting
August 17, 1970.
There being no further business on a motion by Eanes and seconded
by Crawford the meeting adjourned. -
