HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 06.08.1970 CC-R140 : June 8, 1970 The City Council met in regular session on the above date with Mayor Jay C. Sloan presiding. The following Councilmen and officials were present, Wm. It. Ennes, Harry Gold, Joe Crawford, J. D. Wininger, Hubert Brock, City Manager Leo Wood, Asst. City Manager Claud E,Ids, J. D. Tinning, Water & Sewer Supt., James A. Wyatt, Plumbing Inspector, Bill Buchanan, Mrs. Ilerbert Baker, Wm. It. Stump, Richard Mittanck, Carl Doering, Russell Don Parker, and Virgil Carlson. The minutes of the council meetings held May 11, 1970, and May 18, 1970, were approved as preKented. Monthly liills Motion by Gold and seconded by Lanes that General Fund bills in the amount of $1,958.70 and Utility hills in the amount of 620,317.39 be approved and paid. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Motion by Gold and seconded by Brock that the following hills be approved and paid: Electric Bund Program 65,597.79 Water Bond Program 1,726.11 Roy Krenke Bill Motion by Gold and seconded by Wininger that a bill in the amount of $465.00 from ltoy K renkie for water and sewer pipe be approved and paid. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Gas is Oil Bids !Motion by Crawford and seconded by Gold that the City advertise for bids on gas and oil on both one nn4 twq year contracts, bids to be opened July 13, 1970. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Harold Parker Harold Parker suggested that the City Council amend the plumbing; Plastic Pipe ordinance whereas the use of plastic pipe in certain water and sever would be permisible. The Council suggested that City Manager lVgod and Inspector Wyatt secure more information about P.V.C. pipe and report back to Council at a later date. It. D. Parker Motion by Gold and seconded by Wininger that the following resolution Street Dedication concerning street dedication for Itussedd lion Parker be adopted. All were in favor. (See Ordinance Book #2 - Page 201) Urban Renewal Motion by Lanes that the Urban Renewal Resolution be tabled, died for lack of a second. ,lotion by Brock and seconded by Crawford that the followings Urban Renewal Resolutions be approved. Votes as follows. AYES: Gold, Brock, Wininger, and Crawford. NO1'S: Eanes. (See Ordinance Book #2 - Page 202) Zoning Change A zoning change request recommendation was presented to the council i. from the Planning and Zoning Commission. The request for a change from R -S to C -A 2 in lots 12',13, and 14 fo block #1 of the Hart Addition of Georgetown, Texas, owned by Mr. Carl Doering, was denied. Mr. EAnes made a motion that the zoning boards recommendation be followed, but died for the lack of a second. (See file on zpning for application.) 141 Iii -Lift Pump Motion by Gold and seconded by Lanes that City Manager Wood be authorized to advertise for a Hi -Lift Pump and accessories and bids to be opened June 22, 1970. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Tax Assessor Mayor Sloan appointed Robert Caluette as City Tax Collector and Collector Assessor, effective June 15, 1970. Mayor Sloan stated that there would be a called meeting of the Council on June 22, 1970; There being no further business on a motion by Eanes and seconded by Crawford the meeting was adjourned.
