April 13, 1970
The City Council met in regular session with Jay C. Sloan presiding.
The following councilmen and officials were present. Wm. It. Lanes, Harry
Gold, Hubert Brock, J. D. Wininger, Joe Crawford, City Manager Leo Wood,
Asst. City Manager Claud E"ds, Bill Buchanan, Fred King, Hobert Claud,
James Draeger, Gilbert Bredthauer, Mrs. Jay C. Sloan, Lillian Peavey,
Russell Parker, Don Parker, and Ronald Parker.
Canvass of Mayor Sloan appointed Wm. H. Lanes, harry Gold, and Ilubert Brock to
Home Rule canvass election returns on the Home Rule Charter.

We your committee appointed to canvass the returns of the Home Rule Charter
election held April 4, 1970:

Mayor Sloan accepted the above report and declared Home Itule Charter passed
and that the City of Georgetown would operate under Charter as adopted.

Mayor Motion by Eanes and seconded by Gold that Hubert Brock be elected as
Pro -Tem Mayor Pro -Tem. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Minutes
Approved Minutes of the Council meetings held March 9, 1970, and March 23, 1970,
were approved as presented.
M nthly Motion by Gold and seconded by Lanes that General fund bills in the amount
Bills of $3,547.44 and Utility bills in the amount of $21,767,11 be approved and
paid. Motion carried, by unanimous vote.
Federal Motion by Brock and seconded by Gold that Mayor Sloan be authorized to
Grant sign a resolution for the application for Federal Grant 660, for the construction
660 of sewer linea. Notion carried by unanimous vote.

4 -way Mr. Jack Harris requested a four way stop sign at 15th and Olive Street.
Stop On -a recommecndation by Cheif of Police Frank Masur, the Council denied the

There being no further business on a motion by Brock and seconded by Gold

Bids were opened on a new patrol car and bids were as follows:

James Draeger stated that he had made an error in pricing the Ford and
Mercury bids. -Mayor Sloan appointed Councilmen Brock, Crawford, and Eanes
to a committee to check these bids and report back to the council. Councilman
Brock will act as chairman.
Payment
Motion by Gold and seconded by Brock that $9,359.15 be approved for payment
to Cloud

Motion by Gold and seconded by Sanes that a resolution asking for bids

for the construction of a new water tower be opened at 3:00 P.M., May 4th,
