The City Council met in called session on the above date, Mayor
Jay C. Sloan presiding. The following councilmen and officals were
present; Wm. It. Lanes, Harry Gold, Hubert Brock,.Doyle Lyda, A. F.
Davis, City Manager Leo Wood, Asst. City Manager Claud Eads, City
Attorney Joe B. McMaster, J. D. Wininger, Joe Crawford, Fred King, and
Bill Buchanan.
City Election Mayor Jay C. Sloan appointed Harry Gold, Hubert Brock, and Wm. It.
Eanes to canvass the City election returns.
CX VASS RETURNS:
TO THE IiONORABLE MAYOR OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS:
We your committee appointed to canvass the returns of the regular
City Election held on April 4, 1970, to elect:
(1) Mayor (Full Term) and (2) Alderman for a two year term each,
REPORT AS FOLLOWS:
That Jay C. Sloan received 836 votes for Mayor,
That Joe Crawford received 577 votes for Alderman,
That J. D. Wininger received 480 votes for Alderman,
That Robert Dean received 264 votes for Alderman,
That Nelbert Tanksley received 248 votes for Alderman.
Total Votes cast 842.

After reviewing the election return 'report, Mayor Sloan declared
Jay C. Sloan elected to serve as Mayor for the next two years, and
Joe Crawford and J. D. Wininger to serve as Alderman for the next two
years.
Bids on Sealed bids were received 8nd opened for the dale of $400,000.00
Revenue Revenue Bonds for the City of Georgetown, Texas. First of Texas was awarded
Bonds the sale with an effective interest rate of 5.99444%. Mr. Curtis Adrian,
financial advisor for the City, approved this gale.

ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF REVENUE BONDS:
THE STATE OF TEXAS
COUNTY OF WILLIA11SON
CITY OF GEORGETOWN
On thin the 6th day of April, 1970, the City Council of the City
of Georgetown, Texas, convened in special session at the regular meeting
place thereof in the City Hall with the following members present:
JAY C. SLOAN, MAYOR
A. F. DAVIS
DOYLE LYDA
HUBERT BROCK
HAIULY GOLD
WILLIAM R. LANES
CLAUD EADS,
ALDERMEN
CITY SECULTARY
and the following absent: None, constituting a quorum, when the following,
amoung other proceedings were had, to -wit:
Alderman Eaes introduced fk proposed ordinance which was read in
full. Alderman Gold moved that the rule requiring ordinances to be read
at more than one meeting be suspended. The motion was seconded by Al-
derman Brock.
The motion carried by the following vote:
AYES: Alderman Davis, Lyda, Brock, Gold, and Eanes.
NOES: None.
Alderman Gold moved that the ordinance be passed finally. The motion
was seconded by Alderman Brock.
The motion carried by the following vote:
AYES: Aldermen Davis, Lyda, Brock, Gold, and Eanes.
NO1.'S: None.

CAPTION OF ORDINANCE:
BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOUN, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE
ISSUANCE OF REVENUE BONDS OF SAID CITY IN THE TOTAL PRINCIPAL AMOUNT OF
$400,000 (BEING THE FIRST PARCEL OIL INSTALLMENT OF A TOTAL VOTED AUTHOR-
IZATION 0f $675,000), OF WHICH $175,000 OF BONDS ARE AUTHORIZED FOR THE
PURPOSE 6F CONSTRUCTING EXTENSIONS AND Il111ROVEMINTS TO THE CITY'S WATER-
WORKS SYSTEM; $100,000 OF BONDS ARE. AUTHORIZED FOIL THE PURPOSE OF CONST-
RUCTING EXTENSIONS AND IMPROVLUENTS TO THE CITY'S SEVER SYSTEM; AND $125,000
OF BONDS AItE AL'T13ORIZED FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSTRUCTING EXTENSIONS AND IM-
PROVEMENTS TO THE CITY'SELECTRIC LIGHT SYSTEM; PRESCRIBING THE FOILM, TERMS
AND CONDITIONS OF THE BONDS AND THE FORM OF THE INTEREST COUPONS: PLEDGING
TIIE REVENUES OF THE CITY'S CONBINED WATERWORKS, SLYER AND ELECTRIC LIG11T
SYSTEM TO, THE PAYMENT OF PRINCIPAL OF AND INTEIiEST ON SAID BONDS AJ!TER.

There being no further business on a motion by Davis and seconded
by Brock the meeting was adjourned.
