April 14, 1969
The City council met in regular session on above date, Mayor
Jay C. Sloan presiding. The following councilmen and officials
were present: William R. Eanes, Harry Gold, Hubert Brock, Uoyle
Lyda, A.". Davis, City Manager Leo Wood, Assistant City Manager
Claud Eads, Fire Marshall Lenard McLaughlin, City Attorney Joe B.
McMaster, Fire Chief Jesse Lozano and Airport Manager Jim Boutwell.
Others present were: Don Scarbrough, Bill Buchanan, Paul Iiindelang,
Wink Walden and Urban Renewal Director Virgil Carlson.
Mayor appointed Davis and Lyda to canvass election returns of
City election held April S, 1969.
Canvass CANVASS OF RETURNS-.
Election TO THE HONORABLE MAYOR OF GEORGLTOWN, TEXAS:
Returns We your committee appointed to canvass the returns of the
regular City Election held on.April b, 1969, to elect:
(3) Councilmen for a two year term each
report as follows:
That Williams R. Eanes received 492 votes for Councilmen,
That Harry Gold received 499 votes for Councilmen,
That Hubert Brock received 478 votes for Councilmen.
Total votes cast 525 _.

Minutes of council meetings held March 10, 1969 and March 24,
1969 were approved as presented.
General Fund bills in amount of $2,472.29 and Utility Fund
bills in the amount of $19,241.88 were approved with exception of
Beaker Painting & Roofing in the amount of $200.00. Motion carried
by unanimous vote. Motion by Gold and seconded by Davis that above
bills be approved and paid. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
